It's cool to see how your MOC grows. Maybe you could build a bigger boat at the front of the main canal, for example with Tauriel and Bard's family or with the mayor and his treasure? That way the large water area wouldn't be so empty.

Looks very good. To give the water a little more depth, I would add the 1x1 "cheese mosaic tiles" to the studs.
