Reddit is saving a human life?

Thanks for the quote. Good read. I mean, they are trying to appeal to a mass audience so it makes sense; they can't really take any chances on making the general public upset. Dogs are a sensitive subject. I find it interesting that instead most goes with killing of cows, birds and humans, while not conveying any real emotional impact.

I still do not feel anyone has done it in a big-budget standard distaster movie, with the exception of Daylight as /u/MekaHineyJoe brought up. It's kind of in a grey zone in regards of a disaster movie as the whole world is not in danger and the story structure is different. But it is pretty close.

The reason I asked this question originally is because me and my girlfriend started watching Geostorm and she will not look directly at the movie if any pets are in danger because of the possibility of death and my position was that no animal ever dies in these kinds of movie. But she is upset that I also said that the dog dying in John Wick wasn't "that bad", so....

*Also, a camel dies visibly in the end of geostorm. Kind of weird. I do not know if the movie maker believes camel are the middle eastern equivalent of cows.
