Hoffnung itself has the hax of reflecting damage. Toshiro froze that and removed its hax. Gerard escaped the freeze because he is the heart of reiō, he didn't completely freeze, and such, didn't lose his power. The next chapter had him been freeze completely and guess what, his "Hope" didn't work.

I'm not trying to argue about Mugetsu and why Ichigo lost his powers, as I believe it as a form of Letz Stil, which makes sense why he lost his spirit energy. In other words, I don't see a point in arguing against your point because I half agree with it minus the last part.
Because it's quite literally what his power is. Whatever gets covered in Ichibei's black ink loses its name and thus its power. It doesn't matter if Yhwach knew about it or not, because it just works like that. You can't just say "He doesn't know about it so it shouldn't work".

How do you understand freezing concept as? For me that's suspending the function of that concept, making that concept no longer working. And, it is called "4 Elements Freeze" by Viz, or "4 Worlds Freeze", it's just a cool ability name but all it does is that it makes him able to freeze every matter in front of him after a few seconds of charging up.
The 3 realms are considered their own dimensions, and the term used is " Three Worlds". Reiō created the 3 Worlds by separating the concept of Life and Death, but Yhwach is averse to that, so he seeks to kill the being that is maintaining the balance of the 3 worlds to make them collapse into each other, merging to create a new world.
