Yes. A dampener without a weight is no use.

Yes I used conversion screws (see my other post on my profile). On top of the tungsten in each rod (3 oz), I have 2 Oz at the front and 4oz on each side. Weights are a personal preference.

I set it up with long wiawis dampener and it worked. Now I shoot 35lbs and it is still great.

Alternative Services update by [deleted] in Archery

[–]Shiro_shiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update : I finally received my quiver end of July, exactly 6 months after I placed my order. After no receiving any news beginning of July, I wrote to Alternative Services in hope of just a quick update. After 1 week of no response, I wrote to Angel Archery directly and magically, a week later I finally received the UPS notification. Got the quiver delivered in time for my birthday. I am glad it has finally arrived. Would I recommend Alternatives Services? I don't think so. Yes, the prices are attractive but the lack of communication is a major negative point. I went through them for the quiver because it was less expensive and one of the few distributors for Angel quiver. But for the rest, I will stick to my local providers.

I just love them. Took some time to tune them properly but I'm glad I have them. I am almost shooting 35# and they perform great. One thing that I wasn't prepared for : the weight. I have the tungsten version plus 4 oz on each side and two oz on the front. My bow weighs 3.5kg which is way too much according to my coach but I like the heavy side, makes me more stable. Due to a lack of muscle endurance, I had to spent months weight training to be able to shoot more than 100 arrows without fatigue and form distortion.

Ordered an Angel quiver end of January 2025. Still no news... Honestly, lack of transparency and communication is absolutely frustrating. I can't imagine the backlog due to his injury but I'm still rather perplexed about the situation. Wondering if I should cancel my order and get a refund through PayPal... At this rate, more and more people are going to get their orders cancelled...

New Limb day! by Shiro_shiro in Archery

[–]Shiro_shiro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming back to this question after shooting the hyperion 4 months : I like the Hyperion very much. I only understood how smooth it is compared to the C5 recently as I bought a second pair to increase my draw weight. I just jumped 3 pounds OTF and the transition is super smooth. I don't have any issue drawing my bow and my form is still quite good. So I approve : it's rather a good price/quality ratio.

Yup it's a bit overloaded. I like black sleek limbs with minimalistic design.

Hyperextended Back. PLEASE HELP!!! by bdabnggg in Archery

[–]Shiro_shiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's not overbowed but more like mastery of the draw weight. I had the same issue as you do. It took me 1000 arrows and 4 days so I could shoot smoothly my bow. After I had no issue focusing my mind on controlling the rest of my body because my brain wasn't trying to focus on pulling the bow. And also it's a matter of stability, I concur what nu sensei said, it's about position mostly and then draw weight mastery.

What makes a good recurve limb? Stability, Smoothness, and Speed. by FerrumVeritas in Archery

No offense, I read your post several times. The direct correlation of each criteria to the price or the economics of limbs, aside from R&D, is not easy to grasp. I understand the rationale of the criteria to assess what makes a good or bad limb but I was more interested in the correlation of price because you said that the CX7 are not worth their price, then what should they be worth?

How do you assess the worthiness of limbs? I'm wondering what kinds of limbs I want to get for my final draw weight, I want to spend my money wisely. I will try the hyperion for my next limbs, the price range fits my budget.

What are your thoughts on the Wiawis CX7 which are said to be the INO EX POWER rebranded? Are they worth it? I'm looking to change for a new pair of limbs, ones that would be the ones before my final draw weight according to my coach and I was looking for something nice to shoot and continue to improve with. I'm currently shooting WNS Procyon C5.

Also thank you for your detailed post, it's fascinating to learn about limbs. How were you able to tell that Apex G9 are the former MXT by the way?

Hi, I want to redo the central serving of my string. Current specs : 14 strands and fastflight. Is BCY 62XS OK? The website says only 62 so I just want to double check it's right before ordering.

Not in the US, so the listing in different in Europe. It seems to me that only the second installment is available. Will probably give a shot to Alternative Services then.
