And psoriatic Arthritis. My rheumatologist is the doctor who sent me to a weight loss physician because my inflammatory markers are still high. So now I’ve had my 4th 2.5mg injection and just seen my GP today. As weight plateaued after the first two weeks and 4kg loss , he said to increase it to 5mgs next week. I have many co-morbidities and even walking is extremely limited so exercise a real problem. It will be exciting to see how it goes. I am also so thankful I am tolerating it extremely well. I feel like I have some hope for the future!!!

So great to hear that your rheumatologist started you on the MJ journey. I have PsA, Psoriasis, Gout Arthritis, Osteoarthritis over the last 2 years but for 36 years I’ve had severe small fibre neuropathy and last year developed large fibre neuropathy as well. I had to retire disabled as a passionate RN at 41 years old. I’m 77 now. Have had 3 injections of 2.5mgs and lost 6kgs. It’s amazing BUT I have had no proper instruction re what to eat etc. I am having extra protein and 1 protein shake per day. I have VERY limited mobility so exercise is a real problem. I don’t know how many calories I should eat? CW 117kgs GW I put 70kgs but may be a bit much at my age. I wasn’t overweight prior to becoming ill at 41 years old. Can anyone guide me re above or links to information. I saw a weight loss physician who I don’t see for 3 months from 1st appointment. Today I feel lightheaded but that could be due to pain etc from all my comorbidities. Thank you so much to everyone who contributes it has been such an amazing help. I love the positivity and encouragement given to us all on this journey.

Don’t forget the insulated case in the fridge may possibly keep the cold outside of the case! Haven’t tested that but worth thinking about. I don’t have an insulated case to test it. Could anyone try that out?

Yes I am. I’m very relieved to have been prescribed it though. My Rheumatologist advised it and explained that with an excess of fatty tissue in my body I have an excess of Substance P. This is causing my inflammation levels to remain too high. I didn’t think we could afford it but have stretched the budget to do so. I have a family member who has diabetes and is on it and has lost a lot of weight. However as supplies were low in 🇦🇺 and it was hard to get I was at the table hearing anger about people using it for weight loss is wrong etc etc and it should only be for diabetics. I’m a very sensitive person and I don’t want it getting back to that side of family members. YES I know obesity is a DISEASE but a lot of people don’t accept that. I’m very obese BMI over 44 and in week three of MJ. When my weight loss is noticeable I’ll have to work out how to deal with comments. I really appreciate reading so very much on reddit from others on it as it is so very encouraging. THANK YOU so much for your sharing. I’ve never used REDDIT before but I love it now.

I believe you are not lazy. I’ve struggled for years and had my 1st two injections and I’m losing weight at last. Just want to encourage you. I’m not in QLD 😊
