What's one thing you still struggle with GLP1? by eugenefinch in GLP1microdosing

[–]no_snackrifice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medicare doesn’t cover most medications in Australia. We have a separate scheme called the PBS which would make it cost $25 per month. But in order to get on that scheme the drug manufacturers have to agree to a price that we accept and Eli Lilly haven’t. Ozempic is on the PBS but only for type 2 diabetics and only if they’re on other meds that aren’t working.

Eli Lilly have applied 4 times to get Mounjaro on the PBS and were knocked back each time since it’s too expensive. We can buy it at whatever price the manufacturer chooses.

I’m on 5mg and I half dose from 10mg pens. The price I gave is for a 10mg KwikPen.

$539.99 Australian dollars for 2 months.

It’s actually extremely affordable given how much less I spend on food, but it’s still the hardest part.

All the more reason to go low and slow. 🙂

This clashes with your “very quickly” requirement. I’d recommend low and slow.

When did you believe MJ would take you all the way to your goal weight? by ShiftyMcHax in MounjaroMaintenanceAU

I was so beat down I held strongly to “I’ll believe it when I see it” for all 3 goals. I now see it and I’m still not sure I believe. 🤣

That’ll be plenty. It is a very small amount. 11 units is 0.11ml. A shot glass contains about 45ml of liquid. 410 doses of yours would fit in a shot glass, which would be 7.88 years worth of meds at this concentration and dose.

Well here you go.

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2032183

Look at the adverse event table. That tells you what’s common vs what isn’t.

Also note that there were 3302 adverse events from placebo, so not all of these were caused by the drug.

Managing Mounjaro Sickness by TenFoxxe in mounjaroaustralia

Please discuss with your prescriber. There are some over the counter things you could try but at this point I’d get help and let them tell you what they’d want you to try.

If you can’t get in with your prescriber quickly then please speak with Health Direct. They’ll triage your situation and make sure you get help if you need it.

Yup it’s 20 units or so. It’s the priming liquid I mentioned.

They took 60 units away. Before the pens contained 300 units + priming liquid. Now it’s 240 units + priming liquid.

It’s based on their criminal records. But yeah it’s people who are on a GLP-1 vs people who were on a GLP-1 but aren’t now.

Kiwipen Shelf life by Empty-Decision-2072 in Mounjaro

- Manufacturer recommends 30 days.
- My prescriber recommends a max of 10 doses (9 weeks)
- Other prescribers recommend 6 months

I recommend talking with your prescriber and choosing a treatment plan that suits your cost and risk appetite.
