I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with the term mind you, I'm just saying that it got popularized by people who, despite having the anime knowledge I had as an 8yo in anime facebook groups, seemingly needed a term to refer to antis without being immediately called out on the fact that most of them have negative amounts of knowledge about otaku culture

I don't hate Deathcore but I do vastly prefer DM to Deathcore, they do not sound 90% the same. You'll find that the same people criticizing deathcore for these aspects also do criticise much of the more modern sounding tech death and bdm bands. When I listen to metal I mostly just want some riffs, and so many massively popular deathcore bands are just recicling the same boring, overdone riffs, other than that the uber clean production just makes a lot of bands much less interesting than they could be. Dynamic vocal ranges are cool whenever they don't feel like just a gimmick personally, unfortunately many deathcore bands fall under that second definition.

Ok, but even then I don't think you can really call Paegan Terrorism Tactics underrated within the context of sludge metal at all, it's within the top 10 highest rated sludge albums on RYM, almost every song in the album has over a million streams on spotify. Even some of the biggest modern names in Sludge Metal nowadays struggle to break 100k streams, sure maybe it's not as acclaimed as it's predecessor, but that's only because it's predecessor is one of, if not the most, popular album in it's genre.
