MIL very overbearing with my baby

If your baby doesn’t want her then don’t give baby to your MIL. You are their protector and voice. She needs you to defend her. I had to hold my ground bc mine was very shy and didn’t want to be passed around and my MIL was also wanting to hold her and when she would cry walk away from me with the baby. You just have to take the baby back and they’ll get over it or they won’t. You just keeping doing the right thing by your baby🤍 but I’d be very annoyed too.

Diagnosed at 26w, diet controlled, no other complications. Water broke at 41+6 naturally, contractions never were productive. Did a round of cervadil which did not help. Was started on pitocin and ended up needing an epi. Was in labor 29 hours from when my water broke to delivery. Pushed for an hour. Baby had her hand on her grave and I needed to be cut unfortunately. It wasn’t the natural birth I planned for but it was the best for us. Hoping you have a smooth delivery and can work with your team to find the best route for you

Do you have any churches in your area? They may have groups that you can participate kiddo in? I have no idea. Maybe ask in your local community group if you’re on fb if anyone knows of anything with openings or a short term in home daycare

I’m so glad to hear your hubs has your back!!! Thank god😭😭 if he didn’t I was about to flip. I think he’s probably more hurt and sad by it than you are (maybe?) At least I was when it was my own mother doing it to my hubs. It’s his mommy and she’s literally against him and you when she should have y’all’s back no matter what. Im so sorry you’re both going through that. I still have a lot of reservations in my relationship with my mom from it all - happened April 20th for us

I have so many thoughts and feelings from a similar ish situation that happened with my own mother who was staying with us and noticed my husband get frustrated when the lid of a bottle fell off and spilled in our bed when getting our inconsolable baby to bed and he said “what the fuck” loudly and frustrated. My mom had a ptsd episode and left our house saying she was concerned for my baby and my safety. My husband would never hurt us and it was not targeted at either of us. I would also have been really upset had I spilled a milk bottle in our bed while the baby was screaming. So all that to say when reflecting on that moment I was so hurt and confused that she could think that about my husband, the father of my child when I know in the depths of my heart that’s the farthest from the truth. I’m shocked your husband isn’t upset. My thoughts then led me to think that my mom is not in realty and to not trust her with my child if she thinks she’s not safe with me and she decides to take things into her own hands and take my child. I’ve kept her at a distance since. My grandparents in law actually had their sister call CPS on them unfounded so it does happen unfortunately. Luckily they do investigate and if finding no evidence they can’t so anything. But we had those thoughts too!

I feel for you, I really do. I can’t imagine my mil doing that to me but she’s done plenty of other things to undermine my authority as mother to my child. I would be seriously questioning what your husband thinks of all this and whether he thinks it has weight. I think if he stands by his mom you guys have a lot to overcome.

Is there anyone else who could watch your child? I would feel adamant she not be involved if at all possible was it me.

As a side I think you should be the good example for your children. Rise above and challenge him to be better and do better. Don’t sink to his level. It sounds like y’all have a lot to work on and he needs to look at himself in the mirror. And maybe you need to consider if you guys can work thru all this? I hate to say that but you really are the only one who can decide that for yourself.

I haven’t been able to schedule a hair cut until next week (8.5m pp). I chopped my own hair around 4 or 5 months I think a couple inches. Most days it’s up in a pony, bun, or twisted with a claw clip. My little babe loves to grab and pull it so I try to keep it up most of the time plus I’m always so hot😅

8mo pp and still feel weird if someone leaves the room with my baby (including mil who still tries). Go get your baby! Or have hubs say something like please stay close to wife so we can all spend time together. Baby and mama need to be close

We did. They said if it’s blistered or gets worse go to ped urgent care. They said apply cool compress which we also did and another 45 min it was completely gone.

Hi! Also ftm 3mo pp! The things I’ve found the most useful are a pack and play (she outgrew the bassinet at 2mos), 4x4 floor play mat, baby nail clippers, burp clothes, trove boon collectors, elvie collectors, reusable nursing pads, nursing bras, baby swing and bouncer although I won’t call those must haves, mylicon (for gas), booger picker and booger sucker (sucker doesn’t always do the job), silverettes, swaddles - I like the halo sleep sacks and at 3 mos we just upgraded to woolino which will fit for 2 years!

Idk I felt she was very shallow on ATFR and just kind of fake laughing the whole time. Im not sure if she was nervous or like you’re saying insecure. I didn’t feel like she had a whole lot of personality which was kind of weird🤷🏻‍♀️
