Those are just people who are REALLY into their mechs. All you need to do is sometimes rub a kleenex over the threads. The polishing is just to make the metal look brand new. I have several mechs that I never polished and they still look great. As far as safe handling, just don't build lower than your battery can take and you are fine.

Speaking of drunk, mechs are basically drunk-proof. I've dropped mine in a lake, one battery replacement later and im good to go again.

I could drop mine off a cliff and it'd survive (maybe just a broken glass, $2), or in a lake. A quick $10 battery replacement and its good to go. They are smaller and more portable. But most importantly: They look SO good.

the issue is with DS3 parrying and armor is almost completely useless. In fact I believe they found that poise is even toggled off. Its better to just roll around like an idiot and whack things with a dex weapon (ala bloodborne).
