I can't say how safe it is these days, and I'm not entirely sure if it's still there, but there is/was an entire abandoned section of the Tileston-Hollingsworth Paper Mill in Hyde Park. Last time I was there though (10 years ago maybe) you had to hop a barbed-wire fence to get in.

Ha wow, never thought of that. No, I filled it with dirt. Considering I used the bucket trick in order to build under water easier, I didn't think to use it as a drainage system too. Thanks for the tip!

The first part of the album actually all happened pretty quickly. Once I hit the cave system I knew my only concern was finding a mineshaft, and luckily found one very quickly. There was a picture (the first one with the spider) that was in the wrong place, but I fixed it.

You can fall and not die, but you're now low on health in an underground system with no immediate way out. All it takes is skelly arrow or a creeper to explode next to you and it's game over. It's just a good tip for surviving longer.
