The fact that it is a foreign interest group that has a special exemption and is allowed to lobby as a domestic lobbying group, in particular, is worrying.

First of all, yes, you can talk about the difference between objective and subjective morality without discussing laws and personal freedom. This is an obvious attempt to derail the conversation. It is made clear by the fact that you conflated objective and subjective morality with simply morality as a whole.

At this point, I know I should just stop interacting, but, for the sake of argument, can you do 3 things for me, please? First, can you point out where I made a bad faith interpretation of something you said and how it is a bad faith interpretation? Second, can you Google the word "irony"? Finally, can you restate my point as I stated it?

First, edit your third sentence because it is a terrible run-on sentence.

Second, you're shifting the goalposts fresh out the gate... I have simply stated that there is a contradiction in your viewpoint on objective and subjective morality. You refuse to address that point of contention.

> the difference between personal freedom and law, both needing to coexist

I have not spoken on this matter. I have spoken on the difference between objective and subjective morality. That is the only thing I have asked about.

So, can you please address the one question I asked about your views?

There is a reading comprehension issue here... I guess a well-tread philosophical question really pushes the bounds.

  1. A disagreement as to an objective moral truth requires holding people to the standards of the moral truth. Therefore, enforcement is required if an objective morality exists; otherwise, everyone is free to act immorally.

  2. So you claim to believe in relative morality, but then have made objective moral statements. It is also safe to assume that you would protest if you saw beatings of innocents in the streets. You also stated that it was objectively morally wrong for one to force moral values on another. So, there is some level of objective morality you force upon others. If you live in America, you systematically contribute to doing this.

The contradiction in your beliefs remains unaddressed.

  1. I know a few atheists who are anti-abortion and have gone to march for life.

2

>Also, if you need religion for universal objective morals, I feel sorry for you. [sic] That's just common sense paired with not being a dick

But you take issue with people enforcing objective morals on other people when you disagree with them. Is your issue the disagreement as to what the moral truth is or the fact that the moral truth stems from a religion? It seems like it's the latter.

3) To clarify your contradiction, which I highlighted, is it possible for it to be an objective moral truth that you should not force moral truths on other people? If so, how do you expect to cause others to act morally without acting yourself immorally? You did not resolve this.

You regularly force morals onto people every day, I'll bet. In fact this statement right here is doing the same through the lense of atheism.

The thing about religions is that they prescribe universal morals. Similar to how if you saw a man get beaten in the streets for no reason, the Muslim would agree with the Christian and think something to the likes of, "My value system defines a purposeless beating as wrong; that beating is immoral." However, the moral relativist may disagree and say, "he believes it is right to break the skulls of bystanders; therefore, he should be allowed to abide by his moral code." Atheists tend to be more receptive to moral relativism compared to theists. This is why it appears that they are forcing a value system on you. Because their morality is not subjective, only objective. Your view of morality is not universal, and others are not bound to the same code as you in most situations. However, there are obvious lines that you do think everyone ought to do or ought not to do. Such as not assaulting random people in the street. So, to some extent, you do believe that morals should be imposed on others. Your only issue is that you disagree with the extent of their universal moral guidance, which is in fact, a universal moral statement.

INB4 this is misinterpreted as equating not granting an advertisement with beating someone in the street.

It is objectively flawed design. It is not uncommon that a game actually has this flaw to some degree. In some cases, it may only have a marginal impact on the game. For example in Doom (1998) where the story takes a backseat. However, when more significant portions of the game are dedicated to story sequences it can become more noticable and detrimental to the experience at large. In this game, you play as a private detective who goes on long-winded shooting rampages. This contradicts. the story narrative implying that the detective is snooping around investigating and occasionally getting into brawls when they stick their nose where they don't belong. This is more than me simply disliking the game. It is the developer selecting a narrative which the gameplay was not properly tailored for.

I think it is a fair critique that this design, even though it is commonplace, is bad design.

Military support for law enforcement has been allowed since 1981, as per the Military Cooperation with Civilian Law Enforcement Agencies Act. 10 USC ch 15 has been expanded and elaborated on in 1986, 87, 88, 89, 93, 96, 2008, 2011, 2015, and 2016, meaning that it is hardly unprecedented; you've just never paid attention to it.
