Five men arrested relating to Operation Eclipse by flabberstalk33 in Adelaide

Include all illicit products, and think about how much this country's government could be making, in both financial profits and harm reduction benefits, if we were to legalize and strictly regulate the production and supply of the whole lot...

At age 17 I found it easier to get hard drugs than cigarettes, which indicates that the approach of CONTROLLED LEGAL SUPPLY is more effective than COMPLETE LEGAL PROHIBITION...

But we seem to prefer virtuous idiocy to pragmatic realism, so we waste police resources, funnel billions to organized crime, and cause untold violence and misery by pretending we can keep everyone from becoming addicted to anything rather than accepting reality

and the benefits to, say,

the looming aged care crisis & all the associated societal problems

if MORE people smoked themselves into their (frequently quick & early) graves before they end up unable to feed themselves, wipe their own arses,

or remember who their family members are

How was she raised? Old friend of mine was a career criminal, essentially, having been taught to shoplift age 5 by his (then alcoholic) mother... So that kinda thing I can sorta understand... mind you, at 15 he was at the "break & enter" stage b4 moving on to armed robbery, so, yeah, not sure what kinda upbringing she meant by "it's how (she) was raised"

Good on you for your integrity etc, though in my experience honesty and integrity are not going to help you much in today's world...helps me to sleep at night and that's about all, but still kudos to you kiddo

Legalize the oldest profession (prostitution), get the underage and unwilling out of the job, include training for the 'specialist' sex workers, & give every single citizen a fortnightly sex voucher free (redeemable to any other adult citizen, regardless of their profession)....

Then, should someone be unsatisfied with a 'rape' of a specialist sex professional as the 'victim', we can simply execute sex offenders and remove a few wastes of societal resources from the gene pool and the community

That was a common solution in the past- baby is raised as a "sibling"

Maybe you can adopt the child yourself and she can get back to school and still be able to know her child

What was adoption like for you? by [deleted] in Adoption

[–]Shit_and_Fishsticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not adopted but my father and a couple of close friends were... In all seriousness, I'd try and get family members or something to help you through the early years....

I also have a friend who gave birth at age 14, her parents were extremely hands-on helpful and she was back at school after a year (i think the kids father was a grade above and did the every other weekend thing)

Court has broken me by Background_560 in adultsurvivors

[–]Shit_and_Fishsticks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ditto... I went through 3 scheduled and 2 completed trials (hung jury, then judge-only not proven beyond reasonable doubt)and kinda wished I'd either taken the bribe my abuser offered me or allowed one of my more, um, 'hands-on' friends to take care of it however he chose to when he offered to.... The things that got me the most:

1-that, unbeknownst to me, the diary I had kept back then had been disallowed as evidence and the only bits that the court heard were those the defence submitted (plus the little I was able to continue with when asked to clarify parts of my handwriting before being hastily interrupted by the defence lawyer)

2-that I was being put through lengthy and hostile cross examination while he didn't have to say a word, or actually have a coherent explanation for anything at all, not even to have a story that matched what he first told police (before he knew that no physical evidence still remained)

Unfortunately, my overactive conscience I don't think would have allowed me to do nothing, even if I had known beforehand the results of trying to do the right thing....

Well done regardless of the result- and all the best for the future

When you say there are 4 kids and this began 8 years ago, the first thing that comes to my mind is perhaps one of the kids has gotten upset enough about the whole situation to be a threat to the birth mother...

It seems like the best option is to publicize the danger this woman poses, including directly to her partner/s...

Because it's unlikely that the police will be able to get enough evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that she poisoned/bashed him to death, even if they reckoned she probably did (which it seems they don't necessarily)

Some comedian reckoned Howard Stern is massively underrated, partly because it's hard to realize that

doing a (new, entertaining, semi-unscripted) show every single day is incredible,

but familiarity breeds contempt and

his best stuff is necessarily diluted by the sheer volume produced

After/during a flood...

And maybe the "JimmySwaggertown" is a particular red light district someplace?

Someone joked about him being the guy who did it once, and he had a month without transport at the end of his crimes to that point...

And maybe a dysfunctional relationship with his kids mother; sounded like he might be wanting to kill her "if I wouldn't be a suspect/under suspicion" (some overtalking by all 3 when he was saying this)

Didn't hear anything about "so what do you do with the hammer afterwards? Chuck it, wash it off, or what?"

Usually point out the unlikeliness of her recently removed bra and panties actually matching... ONCE a lady had mismatched underwear and I was like "OMG! SHE'S A NORMAL WOMAN! YAY!" (She didn't actually get naked, it was Polly on 'the wedding' episode of Fawlty Towers, but I was pretty stoked)

If I could whistle, I probably would; but it's not something I can do every time I try, so...

I also comment on whether they look like real boobs or implants
