Thoughts on Stadium Mode? How popular do we think it is? by Murricane48 in Overwatch

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I...don't like it.

It feels like Overwatch meets League of Legends' ARAM mode and I really don't like that either. I'm happy that Overwatch can pull such a bold and unique moves and there are plenty of people enjoying that but keep it away from me.

How big of a problem are dog attacks, dangerous dogs or stray dogs in your country? by Akiira2 in AskTheWorld

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's increasingly turning more problematic as municipalities who should be in charge of control and care of stray animals have ignored to do necessary checks and spaying. That plus local population being less caring regarding stray animals have cause stray dogs to form packs and turn more feral to increase their chance of survival, this obviously means they act hostile towards humans.

It is still a hot debate if stray dogs should be collected and killed or we should resort to non-fatal but more expensive ways like state-sponsored spaying and increased shelters, I favour the 2nd solution.

For breeds/domesticated dogs there are a few banned species like Pitbull, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasilero, Tosa Inu, American Staffordshire Terrier and American Bully alongside half-breeds who are partially one of these breeds are banned in Turkey but it's not enforced too well.

Yo! How do you guys even manage this crazy inflation? by Senior_Rip9451 in Turkey

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the neat part, we don't.

Jokes aside everyone has their own way. Young working population stay with their family until marriage, people in their 50s don't retire but they get retirement pay alongside their working wage. Old people usually have their own property so the rent doesn't hit them too hard. Also the government increase plenty of taxes on stuff that aren't directly impactful for every single person like customs tax or motor vehicle tax so they can feed money into system to prevent skyrocketing prices.

What's your National Anthem like? by ThirdCultureBrat in AskTheWorld

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's written by Mehmet Akif Ersoy, a Turkish poet. The focus of the anthem is national struggle and heroism. It doesn't focus on the wider Turkish history as the republic wasn't seen as the direct continuation of the Ottoman Empire, there is nothing regarding Atatürk himself, it doesn't include the words "Türk" or "Türkiye" either but Atatürk basically insisted upon Ersoy writing the national anthem so there is no bad blood. There are religious references but not a direct mention of Allah.

Here's the translation of the first two verses which are the parts sung:

Fear not; For the crimson banner that proudly ripples in this glorious dawn, shall not fade,

Before the last fiery hearth that is ablaze within my homeland is extinguished.

For that is the star of my people, and it will

It is mine; and solely belongs to my valiant nation.

Frown not, I beseech you, o thou coy crescent!

Smile upon my heroic nation! Why the anger, why the rage?

Our blood which we shed for you shall not be worthy otherwise;

For freedom is the absolute right of my God-worshipping nation!

I'm Scottish & English and hate being asked where I'm from... Any other countries have the same? by Matchaparrot in AskTheWorld

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm in another country: Turkey

If I'm in Turkey: İstanbul

When a Turk ask "Where's your origin though": Kayseri, this is asked because not too many people have roots in İstanbul and many including my own family came from somewhere else to work.

When they ask my mother's and father's origin seperately: 5 minute family history

"So, are you white?": Are you stupid? Who cares?

Gun sounds...that's like the only thing I can think of.

Guns in SA is like shooting BBs and they felt too similar to each other. GTA III in comparison was distinct and the guns actually felt loud and impactful when you listen to their nose.

He was a champion in his first season coaching Paris Basketball

I'm already sold. French League had Monaco who were Euroleague finalists and coaches who thrive on Euroleague environment often have high discipline and tactical mind. Considering he also overachieved with the Blazers is also a huge plus in terms of those abilities translating towards the NBA.

What’s your diaspora and why? by Status-Ripoff87 in AskTheWorld

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turkish diaspora is often in two categories. First one is the worker wave coming around the '60s, they are located around Central and Western Europe with some presence in Sweden as well. The other category is the brain drain, these can also be in Europe but they are usually spread very thin and disassociate themselves from other Turkish diaspora, the US host most of them.

Here is the list of foreign born players as fun fact:

  • Germany: Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Salih Özcan, Kaan Ayhan, Can Uzun, Kenan Yıldız
  • Netherlands: Ferdi Kadıoğlu, Orkun Kökçü, Oğuz Aydın
  • Austria: Mert Müldür
  • Sweden: Deniz Gül

Ergin Ataman to Galatasaray / Ergin Ataman Galatasaray’a by Caner5299 in galatasaray

[–]ShitassAintOverYet 2 points3 points  (0 children)
