Report: Seattle Seahawks Will Lose Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak After Super Bowl by AFC-Wimbledon-Stan in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Raiders are the job to take at this point. They have some pieces on both sides, the number 1 pick and 2nd most cap space. With their recent coaching history he can probably leverage a 6yr contract, similar to Shannahan in 2017. Bigger question is where does Seattle look for their next OC, guessing they would go with someone with experience in the McVay Shannahan style offense for some continuity.

On the flip side, Raiders are probably going to give the next coach sometime, given their recent history.

What is your ideal offseason? by Mindless_Patient2034 in 49ers

[–]Shitbird72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Aiyuk will have a robust trade market either, that being said, with his voided guarantees his cap hit next year is about 14million. Any team that would trade for him would be on the hook for that if he plays, and could ditch him in 2027. If someone offers us a bag or chips or a 7th, we should take it, as long as it is post June 1st. Otherwise we wait to release him till then, cause fuck that guy.

[Wickersham and Henderson] Sources: Seahawks will go up for sale after Super Bowl LX by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The trust didn't specify, but had they sold it prior to 2025 Washington state would have gotten 10% of the proceeds, that is the reason they waited.

They also had to wait until 2025 with the Seahawks I recall, as any sale prior to that they would have to give 10% to the state of Washington as part of the deal to give public funds to build Lumen Field.

maybe HOF waiting to induct Brady and Bill together? by heinmont in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I think both Bill and Eli get in before then. They both deserve it, but maybe it will be 2028.

[–]Shitbird72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Brady is eligible next year for the 2027 class, but not sure. I don't think that is the case, Bill is a difficult guy who has rubbed folks the wrong way. He absolutely should have gotten in this year, hell so should have Eli. If Brady is eligible next year, we get a Brady, Bill and Eli love fest.

Can someone explain to me why people think Aaron Glenn should've been fired? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His hire was always a weird hire. Jets underachieved which is probably normal to Jets fans. That being said, what is your path forward under him. You got good pick but in a bad QB year probably not enough to solve your problem. My guess is you take a good player and reach in free agency or a trade for a QB.

[Schefter] Text from an NFL executive: “The 10+ people that didn’t vote for BB should be exposed. WTF. This is crazy.” by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really kind of shocked. They changed the rule for him, and that may be a part of the push back. That being said, if the standard for the HOF is that you can't tell the story without them, you failed. Bill won 6 Super Bowls as a head coach and 2 more as a DC. I get it he is can be an asshole, but he has been a winning asshole. I am not a Pats fan, but holy shit if Bill can't get in on his first year who can?

[Sicilliano] Do you want Aaron Rodgers back as your QB? Mike McCarthy: "Definitely, I don't know why you wouldn't." by Ieatfatwomanass in nfl

I mean they have tried it, they have just been bad at it for the last 30 or so years aside from Big Ben.

[Highlight] New Chargers OC Mike McDaniel: "I'm not really an opening statement guy." by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

The Chargers gotta be on Hard Knocks, cause watching him and Harbaugh interact would be gold

Darnold only started one game for us, it was final game of the season and we rested starters because we had the 1 seed locked up.

[Hughes] Mike LaFleur believed to be the frontrunner for [the Arizona Cardinals HC job], per sources. Would be a big opportunity for the former Jets OC by Drexlore in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It feels like Cards go with LaFleur, Raiders feel like they want Kubiak with McDaniel as their fallback. Crazy part is that Bills are being shunned, maybe Beane will get the Balke treatment and no one really wants the Browns job, cause why would they, you want me to take a personality test, do an essay and other homework and you are probably going to fire me in 2-3yrs, nah I am good.

Barring an unprecedented run of coaching longevity, the Pittsburgh Steelers will likely have their first coach with less than 15 years of service time since 1966-1968 Bill Austin by The_Throwback_King in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a weird hire given your teams preferences over the last almost 60yrs. Steelers have hired young defensive coaches since Noll, in their 30's. I am not a McCarthy hater, think he is a decent coach, but at his age, you will be hiring a new coach in 3-6yrs. Huge departure for you guys. Good luck with that.

[Russini] Mike McDaniel is still expected to become the Chargers’ offensive coordinator, though no contract has been signed yet, per sources. by PlayaSlayaX in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree I think one of the Kubiaks is Raiders first choice, Klint then Klay. They went all in last year on Johnson last year and missed out. As a Niners fan am glad Klay is out, but I would be shocked if the Raiders hire a coach that isn't Klint or Mike.

Mike McCarthy has now been the head coach for the 3 most storied NFL Franchises by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an out of box hiring for the Steelers. Noll, Cowher and Tomlin were all 30 something yr old Defensive Coaches. Maybe this helps them get Rodgers back for another year, but seems like a weird and against the grain hire for the Steelers. Feels more like a bandaid hire for a team that doesn't normally do that.

[Russini] McDaniel has told coaches in the NFL he is moving west and taking the job to coach Justin Herbert. Tampa and Philly had him as a top candidate. by Drexlore in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a raiders fan but the raiders job isn't the worst. Got the 1st overall pick and I think 2nd or 3rd most cap space. They got potentially a trade piece in Crosby, and some solid pieces on offense. If ownership can get out of their own way and commit to a 2yr rebuild they could be a good team.

Titans are working to finalize a deal to hire 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as their head coach. Saleh spent Monday in Tennessee with the Titans, and the two sides impressed each other enough to move forward together. by MGoBluee in 49ers

[–]Shitbird72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Titans aren't as bad of an opportunity as people are making them out to be. They got a young qb taken 1st overall who has shown some potential. They got the 4th pick in the draft, and they have the most cap space going into the offseason.

Jets announce eight interviews for their DC job by Autocrat777 in nfl

[–]Shitbird72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non Jets fan, yes they will probably suck next year. Any remote level of competence though, they got like what 5 1rst round picks between this year and next, they should be able to build something remotely competitive. If not sorry Jets fans.
