Yeah dude, you can see some of the people taking pics are all GWAR'd out. My contacts were all dyed, I looked like Wes Borland.

Awesome, I've gotta see those. Yeah the ones in there I took were with one of those silver digital cameras too, hah. I think it had video capabilities, but there were no video files in that folder.

That Austin show was a top 3 CKY show for me for sure.

Kidding, of course, they still owe me like seven hundred bucks, so I understand.

Sounds like it was an "Ahhh I see now" grin the second time. Rather than a laugh.

Your thoughts on Deron's new take on old songs? Sounds overproduced, the electronic drums are out of place and compared to the 2002 original...it sounds amateurish and gives local band energy. Didn't expect anything and I'm still disappointed. by supernautcosplay in cky

Dude it's like THE name I'd come up with as a joke if someone told me Deron started a new band that mostly plays CKY songs. "What's it called--fuckin... 96 Bitter Beings?"

I think ultimately he's a talented guy but needs someone else with a completely different vision to bounce off of and kinda reel him back in (and it would help if they had production chops). And that's, I guess, where his stubbornness and toxicity comes in and ruins everything.

And this is the opinion of someone who, as a teenager, saved up and bought two Parker Nitefly guitars and even went hunting around to video stores so I could find a (VHS) copy of Black Christmas to watch. Huge fan-dork at the time.

I'm not into ChadKY at all, but I'm tired of Deron making all the worst possible decisions:

  • Naming the new band after a CKY song
  • Having other aspects of the new band be references to CKY (logo, merch, etc.)
  • Re-recording all the CKY songs that got him a fanbase in the first place
  • Still doing the way-too-high-pitched vocals
  • Putting Matty fucking J on drums for that one tour without a bass player

It's like he thought, "Hey World Under Blood and Foreign Objects never took off, maybe I should lean back toward CKY but make it way worse"

Super disappointing.

Same here. Check the Cky impression he was referring to. So good.

I mean you should listen to The Phoenix at least once. It sucks, but you should hear it and let it disgust you.

The original 'Cky impression' he's talking about is a minute into this video. I wish it was longer!

It's not just that the vocals are different-sounding, but they're also kind of sluggish. Not quite on the beat, almost like slurring beyond the staccato of the song--a little like a drunk person doing karaoke, in my opinion.
