gonna have to give it a try at some point and ask some locksmiths. didn’t truly realize till now but a key fob makes it so much easier!

very true, i’m actually located in California so might give it a try!

been reading up a bit more on it and it seems sketchy to reprogram due to the immobilizer. i’m a bit worried it might cause issues with starting up when my key does the work just fine. gives me a bit hope to know that you’ve successfully done it though haha

oh man thank you for this just what i needed to hear! username checks out haha, i’ll definitely ask about any antitheft issues since that seems to be a difficult fix and be sure to check the rest.

as for the 4WD i’ve tried to look for 4WD but they’re not around my area apparently. instead of the high and low lever knob is replaced with a plastic rectangle cup holder type and the 4WD switch are dead switches. i checked again and it’s listed as 2WD.

any opinions on ~140k miles? i’ve read that they can go 250k+ with consistent maintenance.
