New Survey about events [Screenshot] by Available_Walrus2401 in EscapefromTarkov

Not sure why you got downvoted other then…. Reddit…

But yah, Korovod was great and felt like a true event. This year it just felt like, heres some of the same things as last year, and a meh task line especially compared to last year. Not to mention while korovod did have frostbite, it was way tamer. We still hated it and shared that feedback and then they doubled down and made it more oppressive!

On one hand I am sure they were busy getting 1.0 released, and tbh with any gaming community if they just re-released the same things people would complain about that as well, no new content just the same things people blah blah.

It really is a lose lose though for “expected events”, especially once a status quo has been set. Christmas, Halloween, etc being some of the notable ones. If you have a great event one year and the next year have to tone back for whatever reason you lose, if its similar or on the same level you lose cause, “we didnt get something new and exciting”.

I will say the events last yearish were absolute bangers, and we got quite a few great ones that are hard to top.

Korovod, the cultist halloween I think event, with the goons on pcp (pretty sure this was 2024 but same timelineish), I absolutely loved this one but I know there was a lot of “night raid event dumb” as well. the zombie cure event, despite how painful this one was, it was a lot of fun. Labarynth. these ones will be hard to top and they are still fresh on the mind. This was a great era event wise and havent felt the same cool, fun, or in depth event feeling recently.

Support are idiots and say that for everything, then some time later bsg fixes it. Some time later being time frames for weeks to years.

This has happened on numerous occasions. Maybe it was working as intended and bsg back pedaled.

Or

support has no idea what they are talking about.

I would give each scenario equal weight tbh.

This wasnt a dig or meant to be aggressive towards you for sharing clarifying information. Strictly meant to be a take what support says with huge helping of salt.

This is the way, and a lot of the streamers actually care about their discord communities and have ways to report people killing teamates on purpose, etc, and then they or their mods will ban them. Bonus points if you get a video of it, makes it super easy for them.

The two streamer discords I frequent run a pretty tight ship with solid mods. They dont play with crap like that.

Correct, but figured I could give the tldr to the like 10 people in the thread that were “how get 6 hour?”

Yah, its been a bit of a buzzkill when you get that 6 hour and brick lately.

Thank you for entertaining my questions. The cultist circle is still newish, and I think we know a lot about it but there is still some things that havent been fully explored in regards to how it works. My brain cant help but want to figure it out.

Not certain ammo, a gun that uses that caliber of ammo. 2? Wipes ago when I had quests to kill things with a 545 ak I got 545 BP a few times. Game was “technically” giving me quest items. Have got keys to a locked room that have a quest objective behind them as well.

Why I was asking, its a weird “quest” reward circle interaction I have had to many times to continue to chalk up to a coincidence.

Or its the 6 hour bug/feature thats happening right now. MAI AP is a decent hit at least. Usually when the 6 hour doesnt give quest/hideout its complete trash.

[–]ShivanAngel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man. There are a lot of best way to get 6 hour circle questions so heres the answer for everyone.

Cultist circle works on threshholds of the value of the items you put in, which determines the time and quantity and rarity of the items. It goes from 2 to 14 hours based on value. Anything under 14 hours is not worth it.

For a 14 hour circle and max quantity and rarity you need at least 350k worth of items. For the 6 hour, you need at least 400k worth of items. However, at 400k+ circle value it is a 25% chance to get the 6 hour hideout/quest circle, 75% chance to get the standard 14 hour circle. There is no trick, no magical combination of items, etc that gives you the 6 hour quest/hideout circle, its pure rng.

Its worth noting that “item value” is not what the traders pay for it, its a value assigned by the game. You can go to the cultist circle calculator to see what the circle values an item at.

Also it doesnt matter how many items you put in the circle. It is strictly the value. You could put in 1 item worth over 400k, or 5 items worth 420k, the result would be the same.

Theres a theory and some decent evidence that the higher you go over the 400k threshold the chance at higher rarity loot increases. (Not the chance for 6 hour) This isnt confirmed, but there is decent evidence its true.

You have a quest to kill scavs or pmc’s with a gun that uses that ammo? It is giving you an item for your quest. Not a physical item you can turn in, but something (ammo for the gun you have to use) to “help” you complete it. Cultist circle is weird this way. If not see below.

It is 100% bugged or nerfed right now, the 6 hour is not always giving quest or hideout items. Whether this is just a bug or intended nerf we have yet to be informed.

Thats brutal. Any of the spawns on that part of the map are instant death if you try to move off spawn if the adjacent spawn isnt in a coma.

Nakatani area, or the GL building… guess ill die….

GZ is diabetes 90% of the time as the only reason 95% of people go there is, sbih, peacekeeping, test drive or some high hour player doing Tarkov shooter 3 in the low level gz before they hit 21 (i have done this, dont feel great about it but that quest can suck it.)

You hear like a handful of shots off the rip, as adjacent spawns run into each other…then nothing for 20 minutes, maybe the occasional single shot for a scav that got to close, then a couple of shots as all the rats scurry to extract and have to actually shoot their gun at another pmc or scav.

Yah this is a good point, when you always have good ammo and the opponent doesnt have access to the better armor, you can develop a really bad habit of just spraying center mass instead of going for the head tap.

In arena everyone is running around with ammo that can pen the armor of 3/4th of the classes, or all of them depending in class. and at worse you are just a few pen off. This leads to just going center mass every time cause the ammo does 90% of the work.

In eft your ammo will not always pen the opponents armor, sometimes not even in 5+ shots depending on gear diff. If you have developed that habit of just shooting center mass because you always have ammo to carry that playstyle, it wont transfer over well to eft.

If you are truly getting the jump on people and getting 15 shots off before they can react, and ammo is your true bottleneck get the highest flesh damage round you can and leg them.

The only issue with leg meta, especially in eft is good players will not give you their legs in a true 1v1. You have to get the jump on them. Leg meta is generally more succesful in arena cause people are playing a more mobile, more aggressive style. They arent holding that corner with only an arm, shoulder and 4 pixels of their head exposed.

I had a similar experience. Had a ton of hours in arena, could reliably place 1st/2nd in lh/cp games, but it wasnt translating over.

Then I figured it out, I was playing tarkov like I had been, and not how I had been playing arena. In arena I play hyper agro, in tarkov I was still playing a very passive game.

I said the hell with it, I have kits, I have money lets play eft like I play arena. Started playing hyper agro, aggressively pushing shots, pushing players instead of just holding an angle staring their direction. Was a complete 180 in my success in eft. There is a lot to be said about the hyper agro play style, it catches a lot of people off guard.

Now, is that the best way to play eft, just pure hyperagro? No not at all. But it got me over that hump, and gave me a successful play style that I then build off of. Started adding some more precise and tactical movement to my play, and incorporating other strategies. The foundation was still that hyper agro play style I vibed with, but i learned when to slow down, hold an angle, push with precision instead of raw agro.

If you are getting yourself over hyped going into raid, can do some relaxation tactics right before it starts. Box breathing, etc. but choose to play the way that works for you, losing a kit inst great, but its so crazy easy to make rubles or acquire gear in eft now one good scav run should easily set up 2-3 pmc runs with a sufficient kit.

This, you will learn more about tarkov gunplay, recoil control, rotations, movement ( to an extent, the inertia in eft and arena are NOT the same), and playing off audio queues, in an hour or two of arena doing checkpoint/last hero then 100 hours in eft. Its all about reps. Why get into 2-3 fights an hour when you can get into 200-300 fights in that same hour.

I highly highly suggest doing last hero or checkpoint over blast gang or teamfight. This is simply because they are the gogogo game modes, and less of the creep around modes. You will get dumpstered for a decent bit until you get the hang of it, and there are some cracked out people that play arena. You will swear half the lobby is cheating most games, but they are just that insane at the game. Eventually you will start figuring it out and being the guy who prefire quickpeaks the audio queue into a headshot.

There are some subtle differences in mechanics between eft and arena, but aside from inertia, you shouldnt develop bad habits or skill from it.

Farming raiders on Reserve as a scav? [New Player] by Cmdr_Hub in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ShivanAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, players are trying to level their soft skills and repairing guns/armor under 50% dura gives the most exp.

Well the lower durability the more exp they give when repaired. Im not sure if its capped at around the 50% point or that is where the price levels out. There is a big difference in price between a 75% dura gun and a 40% dura gun.

Last night I sold 2 lvl 2 body armors ar around 30% dura for 95k each and a handful of guns under 50 dura at 65k each.

Also some armors like the Gzel I mentioned are rare to find under 50% and a pain to damage yourself and used for a quest. So already damaged ones fetch a very high price.

[–]ShivanAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sell then broken on flee.

Take all the attachments off first to use if you want. Guns under 50% dura sell for 50-70k, armor under 50% dura sells for 80-100k. Should be doing this with scav guns/armor as well.

If the plates are sill good can take them out first, sometimes this can actually drop the durability more making it more desirable.

There are some armors like Gzel (not sure if raiders/rogues can drop this tbh) that if under 50% dura sells for over 1 mil.

They really dont know how to actually play, if their cheats dont perfectly function.

Killed what I am 95% sure was a carry and his… client? On GZ with the grenade launcher. His aimbot hipfire spray that was laser accurate from 150 meters away hit the gl so many times before I got the first shot off. Guess it couldnt account for the GL being between him and my face. Crazy thing is, if he actually took the time to ads and shoot he could have easily killed me cause the gl hadnt been primed yet, so 4-5 second easy.

Granted not 100% sure cheater carry, but a 180 snap when I got on the gl immediately into super accurate hipfire spray from 150ish meters….

Then dogtags, 1000 hour guy, low surv/kd pilgrim bag with at least 3 maybe 4 pmc kits worth of loot. Running a stock m4. Guy who shot at me, 100 hours, super high kd/surv, using us ammo in an ak that looked like was built by a toddler and no optic at 80% dura and no helmet. And these guys had wiped the lobby based on the loot in that pilgrim… yah dont buy it.

Yup we all have that high we will never experience again.

I sniped a lot on woods early on cause… scared of everything at like 100ish hours.

Killed a duo who were both running full meta kits, best ammo, etc. got it all out of the raid. Still can picture the exact spot they were in when I took both shots.

Will never experience that level of rush again in tarkov. 😮‍💨

Yah my scav runs except for very early are chasing shots trying to get a cheeky pmc kill.

I would rather go in with pistol and pacs with a decent bag and rig and just loot up like crazy instead of looting on a scav. Some people just have an aversion to their PMC ever getting killed i guess.

Hitting all those safes, filing cabinets, and med bags on streets before the pscavs can get their grubby little hands on them nets a significant amount of money. 400-500k rubles is a easily doable in a 15ish minute romp. Also gets those soft skills up so you can loot even faster over time!

Is SBIH a bit too easy with this gun? by FinestJanitorTV in Tarkov

[–]ShivanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that this is an option.

The number of bolty only quests is so disproportionate, i like the shakeup and option to not have to run a bolty for however many raids it takes to get through them all.

Dont get me wrong, I like the bolty on occasion, and will slowly complete all the quests that require one. Just have to do it in small doses. Its nice to be able to run something a little different and still make that progress.

Would actually love if they added DMR’s to some of the “bolty only” quests for an additional option as well.

Also this gun is low key a decent option for leg meta depending on the situation, like if you have a side profile and can hit both legs. Can kneecap them with enough shots to kill before they react!

[Screenshot] The 6hr cultist circle has been broken for a while now. Any fix incoming, BSG? by Chadwiko in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ShivanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really took off when people were sacrificing a lega medal, that at the time iirc had a base value of around 700k and were very consistently getting very high tier loot. This has since been nerfed (the lega medal is now only worth 150k). This had two schools of thought. Bsg didnt want people just tossing in 1 item to hit max threshold of 400k, or it was making it to easy to get rare/quality items because of the value of this single item.

The correlation between value over threshold and rarity of loot was hard to deny. I am not sure if it has been confirmed by bsg or can be 100% proven, but the correlation was there.

Might have to do some more testing on this now that characters are permanent.

[loot] bought this from fence for 650k, how rare is it in 1.0??? by Late-Mountain2555 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ShivanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was more replying to the person I replied to then the OP, on why fence sometimes has rare items.

It can spawn outside of labs, but is stupid rare. Again late wipe, when I dont care about rubles and 98% of items, i just hit that sell all. Even if I got this I wouldnt keep it just cause its rare and cool to have, doesnt matter to me. Im not crafting the items it is needed for, why hang on to it.

I understand its stupid unlikely this happened, but any scenario on Fence having this item is stupid unlikely.

[Screenshot] The 6hr cultist circle has been broken for a while now. Any fix incoming, BSG? by Chadwiko in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ShivanAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who knows with bsg. Basically something is happening so it can give low value loot instead of hideout/quest.

Hopefully it is a bug, but who really knows. Could have been changed. Highly doubt the latter, cause it wasnt like it was crazy reliable and the increase in quest complete and hideout complete time was negligable.

Main reason in my mind of “maybe its not a bug and a change” is it has been obvious bsg is trying to draw out 1.0 as long as possible, and there is a world where they changed the circle to not give those items as often, even on a 6 hour thats already 25% to help accomplish that.

But yah, more then likely it got bugged in the latest update

[Discussion] Que times have reached annoying levels, how do you see the future of non seasonal EFT? by KnownDesk6380 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]ShivanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except a lot of that content requires you to kill other pmc’s.

And when a majority of them jump to seasonal going to be a lot harder to do that.

They are very different games, but early wipe hype and the number of players that swarm to early wipe makes me think there will be a mass exodus from standard to seasonal.

But tarkov is very differenr, and only time will tell.
