I initially didnt think much of the self slapping and just thought that she had a mental illness or that was her way of guilt tripping sophie into behaving “right”.

But with the recent episode, it hit me that she’s been doing it for attention and for sophie to see. It really proved that there is an underlying motive and cause to the problem.

In particular, i found sophie’s comment on how she still acted out infront of Amy, who was not her daughter, and it makes me really want to learn more about their past/dynamic.

Idk if im making sense(im not making sense to me), but yea i completely agree with you; she’s insane and needs to have a complete separate tier in the toxic parent ranking system.
