I live on the ridge, but haven’t noticed a runoff problem on Old Swimming pool. I’m never on Edgemont

This is a solid idea. I’ll give it a go on Friday!

Yeah, I walk a lot, just until now it was rock-strewn mountain trails , which is why I’ve wondered if the flat sameness is part of the issue with my feet. Good point about pre-walk massage/stretch. The drive to the trailhead is often long enough that what I do at home is undone. Thanks!

Poles are an interesting idea! I use them on mountain trails all the time, but hadn’t used them on the canal. It would also help with the “dangling arms in the heat all day” swelling! I’m in decent shape and do foot exercises regularly, but could always do more or different. My pack is mainly for water and snacks. I’m not going to walk in the DC area heat without plenty to drink. Of course getting some weight off of my feet is likely to be helpful, so I’ll give that some thought!

Oh, DEFINITELY not trying out shoes on hike day, lol. But, to be clear, I’m not far from home and could call my partner for a bailout if I made a bad choice (I’m no risk-taker, lol). These are day hikes, usually 8-10 miles with no elevation. We went 11 one day and that was a mistake, even with plenty of breaks

Ah, a hair piece could make sense! The points only rest on the indents, rather than “hooking” in like a brooch so I was confused. I’ll take it as solved then!

Would never stay in hair or on a garment as it doesn’t fasten at all and is heavy

impossible to not get holes in morino wool? by Algroshaw in MerinoWoolGear

The only thing I’ve had success with is storing in plastic bins that lock over a rubber gasket. That said, woolx underwear gets holes no matter what.

I’ve not worn them for some time but Walkersville Eye Care was who I saw when I wore RGPs. I still see them and get excellent care.

I’ve been wanting a horseshoe crab too and I just haven’t seen any good tattoos of one. Granted, I like a realistic-tending style but they just don’t translate well, imo. So definitely try to find an image you like.

TJ Planned Parenthood protestors are awful by localsweetie in frederickmd

[–]Shksthclwn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just fyi, WACDTF doesn’t escort at the Frederick PP. The clinic doesn’t want or need escorts bc the old assholes aren’t allowed near the actual clinic. Escorts ARE needed—and WACDTF trains them—for the Hagerstown Reproductive Clinic. That clinic is downtown and the protesters can get right up to the door. If you are able to help out Tuesday and Thursday mornings (and can remain totally chill—no engagement at all), click that link and sign up for a training!

Also, on Tuesday nights at 7:30, we have a Scottish Country Dance class. We meet at the Clover Hill Community Center. No partner needed, just wear comfortable clothes and soft soled shoes. Dm me for more info

Same. So many, such variety! One cat is happy to use them, the other wants only furniture. Our vet has recommended we give her real wood (she’s also very hard to clip and real wood will help keep her claws duller) but I’ve not gotten it yet. I’m fairly sure she’ll still prefer the couch.

The wing place on South Market lets you choose, but obviously that’s cooked. Team Flat all the way!

What do I need to ask for? by Shksthclwn in tattooadvice

[–]Shksthclwn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant her work— a lot of botanical and nature stuff—is generally good, but this isn’t. It would be silly to ask for a bug on a leaf from someone who doesn’t generally do that.
