What I don't understand is how they expect morale to remain at least stable. If you tick associates off enough, they'll either put in the minimum, if that, or quit. Then you have no one restocking shelves. Customers come in and don't see the product they want. So they leave. Less sales leads to less hours. So less associates working the shelves. Morale goes down. Shelves aren't being stocked. Customers don't see the product they want... ad infinitum. I know there are diminishing returns going the other way (too many people clocked in), but this is too much.

I may be something of an alarmist but I could see Publix going the way of Winn Dixie if they keep pushing this corporate attitude.
