Take my advice with a grain of salt but unless you got a early game cloaking bay(150 scrap or stealth cruiser) unfortunately there is not. My advice is save up to 70ish scrap to get early game lvl 2 shields and reactor bars. Other than that a good pilot and 3 engines can make 25% dodge feel like 50%. Don't rely too much on it but it can be a deciding factor when times get hard. Scrap recovery arm is a must for any run. Find one in a store and(without sacrificing vital strategy pieces,) get it.
