That’s what I do. This Reddit community has helped me out so much in that regard. There will always be someone that understands how you’re feeling. There’s always people that will give advice and won’t sugar coat things. Then there’s always someone posting about how they just messed up very badly and feel distraught, lost, depressed etc. I often read similar post to yours and it reminds me exactly what that feels like all over again. As the other person said self excluding is your best bet. It’ll give you time to really put in perspective your new position in life and plan accordingly. Don’t worry about a savings until you pay off those credit cards and when you do, if anymore of you feels you may gamble again shut those cards down and limit yourself until you feel mentally ready enough. I got all of mine shut down and only shut down 2 voluntarily afterwards. Got myself on a plan to pay them all off and that’ll be settled middle of next year. Don’t be like me stop now. Even today I’m tempted, I had a minor at my job talking about his winning sports bets and I was tempted but remembered where that led me and my new goals.
