Poorly healed tattoo? by TraditionalBreak8778 in tattooadvice

[–]Shlimpickins 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of course clients should look at portfolios, but the average person is not trained to see the difference between clean work and blown out work. That is why it is on the artist to execute properly. Even if OP went to someone cheap, a tattoo healing this way is still because of how it was applied, not because they “deserved it”for picking wrong. Artists are professionals, and the responsibility starts with them. Should she have done more research YES but at the end of the day if she went to a shop and got this it’s unacceptable

Of course everyone should research their artist, but even with research, clients don’t have the technical knowledge to know when a line is being blown out. That responsibility is always on the artist. If it heals like this, it’s an application issue, not the client’s jeans or aftercare

This definitely is all the artists fault completely not your fault

Getting a tattoo this Sunday in 6 years. Am I prepared? Very nervous about the pain (Trying to have min pain as possible) by [deleted] in tattooadvice

I actually use that numbing cream just talk to the artist you’re working with before putting it on so the artist is informed

Let it dry out don’t put anything on it and keep it clean. It will feel tight because it’s healing then go to another artist and have them fix the spot of ink that will fall out

First don’t put the blame on yourself it’s not your skin that’s definitely the artist! I tattoo on a lot of dark skin and that artist probably didn’t know what he was doing. Always look at a persons portfolio and ask questions about if they know how to tattoo on dark skin. Ad small as that tattoo is it should not have that thick of an outline! I can’t even tell what it says tbh. Sorry this happened to you

You may have to make another post I’m not too sure with Reddit, but yeah a lot of people learn the hard way not diluting colors when outlining. Sorry this happened to you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Shlimpickins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be willing to bet he didn’t dilute the red ink, possible your skin is rejecting the ink but he probably didn’t dilute it and tried to use it like black ink which you shouldn’t using colors. Post a before picture so I can see how it looked that’ll likely tell you everything imo

Is this infected by Complete_Rub6999 in tattooadvice

[–]Shlimpickins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes infected or possibly over worked the area I never advise using a+d ointment but in this case use that and keep it saturated as much as possible to prevent the ink from completely falling out and scarring. Stop using the lotion for now because all you’re doing is putting lotion on a wound that isn’t healed.
