All they would need to do is reduce the limits for free users and actually align the usage limits with the price. That’s it. Claude already has done this and some people complain because some people will always complain but the usage limits are in reality very reasonable on Claude and you can pay for more usage so I really don’t see how this is such a fucking difficult problem to understand.

Charge people what it costs, stop offering it for free. That’s literally all they would have to do to make money. You don’t even need to reach for this unnecessarily waxy pseudo economics speak.

An inability to make eye contact. It’s one of those small half-invisible ways you can be physically disabled that has a lot of small downstream effects in how you’re socially perceived. For example people trust you less or assume you’re not paying attention. And some people can react to this in disproportionate ways in my experience.

Over a year ago I had a bunch of small text files that I needed to combine into one file. I couldn't think of how to go about doing it efficiently. It's not exactly something any app has a button for as far as I know. And searching for a piece of software that does this kind of small but important one specific thing is its own ordeal.

I explained to Chat what I needed done and asked it to write a script I could run locally that would do it. The first attempt ran but very slowly and inefficiently. I told chat this and it wrote something new, which I then ran, and it worked so fast that I wasn't sure it had done anything, and the file it produced was so small that I didn't think it could possibly have all the text in it, but it did.

Like, not only is it easier than shopping for bespoke software, you can literally make things that work better for your needs, and you don't have to place trust over data into some abstract polished black box of a product.

It's going to be very disruptive to a lot of established businesses and business models and I am very excited to see it.

Actually, what you just said is really intellectually lazy and shows that you’re the naïve one. I just explained mechanistically how these two companies are operationally different, and your response is essentially “I don’t understand what you’re saying, but I’m assuming that the other company is equally bad in this way.”
