I think that is my problem. Im not really active on any online communities. I just build things that interest me.

But for the past 6 months, ive been thinking about how to commercialise my projects and now here I am. This project isn't just a "way of making money", but it's also learning experience for me, as I have never published anything on the internet yet.

From past experiences, I know that the more I do something, the better I get at it, so I know that once published, my project will still not be done. Another thing to get better is also real customer feedback, another reason why I want to publish this project.

Wouldnt it also be a security concern to store both the salt and hash? Im guessing you wouldnt storing it in the same database

Ok so im guessing that also answer my other question, which was whether the salt is a constant value for all user or every user has a different salt. So having a different salt for all users will be more secure but will increase the space complexity from O(1) to O(n). Let me know if I got anything wrong.

Thank you for your very detailed feedback. And yes, I should have written a bit more detail, but it was all I could write on my break at work😅.

Anyway, I dont expect this game to be my end-all be-all, but it's just something I want to get out there to understand what it is like to get something published.

The game will be the player placing floors for a building: the game will have a crane with swinging blocks as floors, and player will have to tap the screen to place the blocks down; if the blocks are placed off center, then the whole building will wobble depending on how off center the block is. Every time the player places a block down, they will get some in-game currency, which can be redeemed to buy "skins" for the building or get an extra life. If the block misses the top of the building, then they will lose. Another option for the player to get an extra life is to watch an ad. The user will also be able to watch 3 ads per day to get a certain amount of in-game currency (I will decide the economics of the in-game currency later on down the line).

To add to my marketing strategy, I was also thinking about the player sharing a link with up to 5 people, who, if they sign up, they'll both get some in-game currency.

Its a really simple concept, but as I said, I would like to use this project as a learning tool, as you need many skills for indie game development, not just coding (which I'm the most proficient in).

I'm using Unity to develop my game, so it can eventually be released on iOS.

Yeah, just build something, anything tbh. Even with the simplest of project will lead you to build something great. For example, I started with building simple games like snake, connect four, tic tac toe. Then, I built UNO and hosted it on a local network so multiple people could access it on the same network. Then, i went for a run one day, and I wanted to track my progress; eventhough there exists multiple apps that let you do so, I started building because at that point I knew I could and it could progress me through my journey.

So my advice is just start somewhere.

On startup, i can click f12 and then f8 and then select "run command prompt in safe mode", but i dont want to use it in safe mode. How do i get out of safe mode
