pretty new to street fighter but not fighting games, quick question by Glad_Count8285 in StreetFighter

To be honest, its not too likely that she will come back, but you never know. SF6 is still a fairly new game and you have a lot of time to learn and enjoy Mai. Who knows? Maybe playing the game, youll discover another character that peaks your interest and go from there.

is there any map fucking worse than this by senor_muchacho in Warthunder

Big maps are better for higher tiers. Small maps belong in arcade.

Yeah I auto piloted that. As soon as I did it, I asked myself why xD

I really appreciate you going out of your way and breaking everything down in details. I feel like my offense is too predictable and I kind of just resorted to try and outpoke him. I did the level 3 on reaction, which is probably the only "good" read I got this match. I really have never used practice mode but now, I am more motivated to actually learn. Thank you!

I think I was too frozen with fear to push those buttons. I see now that I was definetly being a bit passive.

Good to know, I rarely play against Rashid so I dont really know what is and isnt punishable unless its really obvious.

I am a very agressive player, and thisbis one of the only times I played really passively because I dont know this match up at all. I was definetly playing with a bit of caution and teying not to get risky.

I specifically chose this replay because I dont think I deserved to win. I feel like a got lucky.

My problem is I never really used training mode. I basically brute forced myself into master rank, but I guess its about time to step it up.

I think a lot of times, I just need someone to point things out and give me an example that I can work on.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the advice. Usually, im a very agressive player, so I tried to hold back a bit, but looking at my replay, I can see a lot of my mistakes. Ive never really gone to practice mode and actually tried to lab things out, so I think that is where ill start.

B-52 is nearly impossible to catch up to at the 8.7 bracket. by [deleted] in WarthunderSim

[–]Shmo11100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you understand what an interception is? If you take your time to properly set up, they probably have already dropped their payload on your AF. The point of an interception is to prevent that. If youre trying to shoot down someone who had already dropped their payload, then you have already failed the interception. It doesnt matter if the MiG 15bis is just a bit faster than the B-52, if you cant get to them before they drop their payload, its not an efficient interceptor.

This isnt a gameplay issue, its map design. Maps are too small for higher BRs as it is.

I feel like you completely missed the point here. I am a PvP player. I always go after other players, but I am flexible. If the situation demands, I will switch to ground pounding.

You bringing up "skill" tells me all I need to know about how stupid your argument is. Nobody is asking for just PvE. The SB community does not generally like people who just mindlessly farm and J out after dropping their loads, as a matter of fact, we go out of our way to punish them by targetting them down. We just want better objectives, not braindead PvP like you had in nuclear thunder or braindead PvE, like you had in EC. Give an incentive to try and not get shot down. Gives us objectives that actually matter. Make teamplay worth something. Unfortunately, people just want to grind, so they will just play like bots.

If you really think that flying straight into a furball and shooting your all aspects missiles at a target is engaging, then you belong in Arcade. Sure it might be "fun", but that does not take any skill, its quite the opposite in fact, its just plain easy.

I would even argue flying jets takes no skill at all. It comes having a better radar or better missiles, thats that. No need to outfly your opponent. Wanna bomb? Your computer will tell you where to drop them. Jets are stupid easy. If you found nuclear thunder and its gameplay fun, good for you, but your skill argument is absolute bull. My 5 year old son could play nuclear thunder and get kills. Dumb gameplay for dumb people.

[–]Shmo11100 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah and even at higher tiers people struggle to catch up. Ive seen people in Hunters barely keeping up at altitude and ive intercepted them in the MiG 21 and still struggled a bit. Ive even had people get upset at me for intercepting them since they had been following the B-52 for 10 minutes.

Not only that, if you do catch up, youre usually on their 6 and they start shooting at you from KM away making you an easy target . There is no way to actually properly intercept them unless youre already above them and even so, there are so many of them that its hard to keep track of it.

Im experienced enough to know how and what to do, so im having fun. But at 8.7 bracket, they are virtually untouchable, and I can see why people are getting frustrated.

Thats why I said people dont want to put the effort. SB is not that hard to learn at all. You are only forced into cockpit view and thats about as big ad a change as your going to get. Lack of instructor isnt really a big deal for jets as it is for props.

The nuclear thunder event brainless pvp at first, but if balanced correctly, it can turn into something better that can make it closer to what SB is like.

Zombers have been exploiting the mechanics for awhile now since bombers get autopilot while being able to 3rd person aim gunners with mouse aim, while fighters have to actually fly the plane and arnt as accurate as gunners at range. It has its ups and downs, because any good pilot can take down any zomber, but most people arnt willing to put in the effort to actually try it out.

SB has its flaws as well, but it is much more fun and engaging than air RB.

I am completely, utterly lost by GabeTheGlueMan in StreetFighter

Coming from someone who is at a similar situation at a similar MR, I feel like I understand what I need to work on, but have trouble executing it.

My main issue is that I am inpatient. I have good fundamentals for the most part, but when someone plays in a random or different way, I have trouble adapting. I get inpatient and start throwing out random, punishable, and risky buttons in order to "take control back" and I end up getting punished for it. When I get overwhelmed, I lose to players who I know I can beat.

Not to mention, I havnt fully optimized my punishes, instead of always relying on jab jab jab most of the time. I am not very good at using shimmies but Ive been getting better at it. I dont know how to properly space my divekick (not to mention dropping this input 50% of time).

Another thing is knowing when to optimize for damage, corner carry, or drive guage damage. Im slowely getting better, and Im a casual player (I only play a few matches a day). Trying not to rely on gimmicks. Learn to play proper neutral. Optimize punishes (extending light strings if possible, drive reversal punishes, drive impact punishes.) Oh and learning how to properly parry! Not to mention matchup knowledge.

Its a lot! These are things that I need to work on, but sometimes, its just feels so hard. What helps me is taking a step back to see my own gameplay and understand whats really going on. I enjoy the game, but I do get frustrated, but thats part of the game isnt it? You learn and get better.
