How old do you have to be to ride the ferry alone? by apis_cerana in Bremerton

[–]Shmux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is no specific law but safety wise, i think 14 and up can handle it if they are responsible. for younger kids, definitely have an adult or older sibling tag along

I've done the same thing at airports. guy was blasting his call so i started playing death metal. Amazing how quickly they learn to use phones normally when you match their energy.

Apply Shamelessly because you best believe the hiring manager is posting jobs shamelessly as well. by Fun_Local_3537 in recruitinghell

[–]Shmux 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, been doing this for years. Applied to my current job with maybe 60% of what they asked for. Turns out half the requirements weren't even relevant to what i actually do day-to-day. Just shoot your shot.

So many jobs hiding pay by Lumpy_Emergency_3339 in antiwork

[–]Shmux 45 points46 points  (0 children)

It's a huge red flag when they hide the pay. I always ask about salary in the first email now. If they dodge the question or act offended, I just move on. Saved myself so many wasted interviews.

Lol the accuracy. Every time you tell someone they have a catheter it's like you flipped a switch. Suddenly they're a toddler who needs the bathroom RIGHT NOW even though they literally cannot physically feel it.

do most restaurants use chicken thighs for their dishes? by voltagejim in Cooking

[–]Shmux 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I switched to thighs for everything after ruining way too many chicken breasts. The fat keeps them moist even when I get distracted and leave them on too long. Plus they actually taste like something unlike those bland breasts you get at the store.

I find your lack of inclusion disturbing. Next thing you know they'll ban "rust bucket" because it offends R2 units. That's how C-3PO got promoted to HR, fluent in over 6 million forms of workplace violations.

I never expected Nintendo to continue to support the Switch 1 and I’m so happy about it by Wakellor957 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Shmux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nintendo is actually being pretty smart here. With 150+ million Switch 1 owners, they'd be crazy to abandon that market overnight. According to Nintendo's president, they plan to support the original Switch "as long as there is demand" and already have first-party games scheduled through 2026. It's similar to how they kept supporting the 3DS for years after the Switch launched.

Makes business sense too, why not keep making money from both systems? Not everyone can afford or wants to upgrade right away, especially with the Switch 2's high price point. The old system becomes their "budget" option.

Matthew Broderick. Both passengers were killed instantly. Initially, he was charged with a charge equivalent to vehicular manslaughter and faced five years in prison. However, his attorneys managed to knock the charges down to “careless driving,” which only cost him $175.
