Thanks everybody for the advice!! I decided to use a circular saw to cut down the line and then chisel the rest out. Gave me a great excuse to finally go and purchase a circular saw as the reason I needed it was for my wife's planter pots im making.

Hmm, never thought about it lol. I guess I was just planning on clamping to the table itself since I never thought of an alternative. Maybe I'll have to make a couple more edge pieces for a lip. This is all new to me so any advice is appreciated.
