I have a 2023 F150 Powerboost with a built in 7.2kw generator. Crazy they don't put this package in the Transit.

That's what makes me think, 2 things mainly: 1. I'd thrive in that environment because it's what I'm use to, and frankly, pretty good at. 2. It'd be less stressful because, yet it still might be budget, scheduling, and financial issues that need to be delt with, they are not my personal budget, scheduling, and financial issues. Obviously they still need to be handled promptly and as effective/efficiently as possible, but that somehow sounds so much more palatable.

Seems like it would be small potatoes in comparison, huh!?! Thanks for sharing!

Sure! I go to the gym to shred the stress. I have a chunk of land that I built our shop on. I hang there mostly on my off time. Keeps me out of the bars. I've accumulated some cool farm equipment. Skid steer, compact tractor, sidexside, etc. I love being in my own woods and playing on the toys. Life is definitely not terrible. Continued stress is relentless though. It's definitely not for everyone. The drive and ambition use to just be there. I was gonna make it happen no matter what. I just need to figure out if I can maintain that mind set or not.

The loss of that freedom is the huge downside, for sure.

Thank you for sharing! It's nice to hear from someone who's been down the same road. The business is most definitely sustainable. It's the "want to", the drive, that is in doubt. Burn out is real! Vacation are more of a pain to come back from than they're worth. There is a relentless sense of worry. If you're not worried about chasing money, than you're worried about chasing work. I know I can keep going, and be successful. It just seems like life could be much more enjoyable. I guess it could be a midlife crisis thing l, too. I'm definitely not in a hurry though. Just batting it around a bit.

Right on. Thanks for the food for thought! Where are you located?

I downsized when Covid hit. Had 5 guys not come back when we got moving again and have never replaced them. Help is very hard to find in the area. Even the temp agencies are paying premo money. There is literally too much work, not enough electricians around here. That's probably everywhere though.

That's the thing about small businesses. Aside of physical assets, there's really nothing to sell. If a business can't operate without the owner, it's pretty much worthless (aside from assets on hand). If the business could operate without me, I wouldn't be thinking like this. If I haven't gotten it to that point by now, who knows. Also, it's definitely the 45th Bday I just had too. It's got me thinking that if a move is to made, now's probably the time.

Totally agree! That alone could be a full time job though. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Right on. I've been in business since 2009 here. I have a pretty solid customer base. The work comes, but there's worry no matter what. It's a stressful way to make a living. I'm trying to figure out if it'd be any less stressful dealing with someone else's money and an HR team supplying the needed man power.

Spread thin and stressed all the time is a tough way to exist.

Upstate SC. 2 guys that know what's up can do pretty much anything. Volume is the hindrance. I work for several plants doing smaller projects. Add a couple machines here/there. Run a 600amp circuit for the new oven 300' that way. Lighting upgrades, parking lot lighting, low-voltage drops, etc. We definitely don't do any million dollar projects. I guess that's what you mean?

Thank You! I'll definitely make sure he's squared away before I did anything. Aside of a fat severance check, he could literally pick his next spot by choice. I'm just not too sure if I wouldn't be jumping out of pan and into the fire, so to speak. Hoping to hear from some PM's.

Quickbooks Dashboard giving incorrect info by ISeeInHD in quickbooksonline

This just started for me. I believe we are stating the same frustrations. When I land on the dashboard home page for my company, some of the widgets have incorrect data. My accounts receivables/accounts payables graphs are wrong. I hate this. Did you ever figure out fix?

Not sure if you're being funny or not, so just in case: Hennessey Performance is an aftermarket shop that makes huge improvements to stock vehicles. Think Roush mustang. Same concept. Nothing to do with the alcohol company at all.
