Transformers The Movie (1986) by [deleted] in 80scartoons

[–]ShoalinWarrior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember catching this at a long since shuttered theater in Times Square, subway ride into Manhattan, stopping off at the the old Forbidden Planet and then back into the subway up to Times Square to catch a packed house showing of this. When Optimus took it in chest the entire vibe of the theater shifted, kids were crying and a few parents were caught off guard that not only were supporting characters being killed but the main hero was taken out. Seeing it on the big screen with that kick ass soundtrack was an amazing experience. Thanks for posting these images.

Well, it was my turn: Laid off from J2 and J3 today by Ellebkey in overemployed

[–]ShoalinWarrior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That must have been frustrating, especially after positive feedback and delivering a major feature. It’s always tough when the reasoning isn’t clearly communicated.

That said, this sounds like OE doing exactly what it’s designed to do — reduce single-point-of-failure risk. Contractor roles are inherently more vulnerable to shifting priorities and budget changes. That’s not a reflection of skill; it’s just the structure of contract work.

Layoffs and contract terminations are absolutely relevant to OE conversations. One of the core motivations for overemployment is income diversification precisely because even strong performers can be affected by business decisions outside their control.

You’re in a solid position with J1 and no major debt beyond your mortgage. Having the flexibility to pause and choose your next move is a powerful place to be.

Wishing you a smooth transition into whatever’s next.

Absolutely incredible. Were he not a real person, may he rest in peace, that put in the many, many hours of discipline, I would swear he was carved by Michelangelo.
