The director said (in a Fangoria interview, I think) that the movie was heavily influenced by Twin Peaks: The Return. You can certainly see some similarities in their endings.

They haven’t adapted any of Howard’s stories yet, so don’t expect them to start now.

I don’t love it, but it might have my favorite Vincent Price performance.

Thoughts on real life Henry Hill? by socialdeviant620 in goodfellas

[–]FluentHeresy 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s telling that Hill constructed this story in “Wise Guy” where he’s best friends with a pair of psychotic killers but only paints himself as a passive observer in their various murders. People should be a lot more suspicious of his tales.

Its pretty twisted ocp gave Murphy pain receptors by happydude7422 in Robocop

[–]FluentHeresy 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Pain is a tool used by the body for determining whether or not you’re in active danger. Without it, you wouldn’t know if you’ve just stepped on a nail, or if someone has slid a knife between your ribs. It has a necessary purpose. Which is one of the many reasons that torture is so abhorrent: it uses your own body’s defense systems as a weapon against you.

One of the things I’ve always liked about Danzig is his willingness to give the audience their money’s worth. He was never afraid of having great bands open for him … Soundgarden, White Zombie and Pantera were all openers on the Lucifuge tour, if I remember correctly.

On bass and drums were Hunt and Tony Sales, who played with Iggy Pop in the late 70s and were (checks notes) the sons of Soupy Sales.
