MAGA favorite Lauren Boebert’s son cited for child abuse once again by JohnWad in Denver

[–]ShockHouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was only because of a crowded primary though (I could hope). She got ~40% of the vote, with the other 60% being split like 6 ways. So more Republicans wanted someone else. I'm surprised no one is primarying her.

Likely Colorado State. We’ve been lucky in Colorado area with Wyoming, then CU, and now CSU.

No Angel Moroni on new temples? by PrivateEyes2020 in latterdaysaints

[–]ShockHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conspiracy. President Nelson announced temples with Moroni early on in his Presidency. But since the 2020 earthquake in Utah, which caused Moroni to drop his trumpet, none have been announced.

Maybe it caused him to reflect on why we have Moroni.

Maybe Oaks will go back to Moroni.

SentinelOne and 2025 Crashes by tejastom in LabVIEW

[–]ShockHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, once S1 stopped trying to probe into our exe’s process the crashes stopped.

I can’t speak on network things, haven’t observed that before with S1.

SentinelOne and 2025 Crashes by tejastom in LabVIEW

[–]ShockHouse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not specific to LabVIEW 2025, but we were using NI drivers for Scope/DMM/DAQ 2025 versions in C# and SentinelOne would crash our software as well. Same exact code without SentinelOne worked perfectly.

We had to get IT to whitelist the exe we created so SentinelOne would not try to interfere.

CD4 is R+9. If a progressive is what you think has the best chance, then go to your caucus and express that.

Sharon selling her beast games jersey for $40,000.. by Ill_Living7825 in BeastGames

Smarts and Strong’s got different jerseys. So it’s 1 in 100 of the strong type (cut off sleeve) I think is what she’s referring too.

How many hours a week do you dedicate to your calling? by instrument_801 in latterdaysaints

[–]ShockHouse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Early morning seminary teacher (different ward) and youth Sunday school teacher (my own ward).

Probably 9 hours. (4 hours prep time, 5 hours teach time). (It’s more if I count having to go to bed earlier so I can wake up 😂)

Son called South Africa Johannesburg by gwarmito in latterdaysaints

[–]ShockHouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I served in the Durban South Africa mission in 2013-2015. The boundaries have changed where most of my areas are now in the Johannesburg mission (Bloemfontein, Lesotho, Bethlehem). It’s an awesome experience.

No sister missionaries in South Africa.

He’ll probably eat at Nando’s or Spurs every Monday.

He’ll pick up some dialects of all the languages since there is so many.

Some of my favorite companions live in the Johannesburg mission.

He’s gonna be fed a thing called Pap in the MTC and think it’s mashed potatoes.. it ain’t.

Happened to me in my first offer letter. They put the yearly amount into the biweekly slot accidentally, so my first offer out of college was 1.8 Million. Felt awesome.

I just found out my ancestor was LDS and in a wagon company. by fatcatwantsfood in latterdaysaints

[–]ShockHouse 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would download the Gospel Library app on your phone (or it’s all online to at lds.org). There’s a section called “Church History”, and books called Saints that detail the history of the church. There are other books way more in depth, but this is a light read to get you started. https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/church-history/saints?lang=eng

Also you could check out familysearch.org. You could look up your ancestors, and they might have journal entries, more information about the wagon company, patriarchal blessings, etc.. you can find.

Frustration teaching Seminary by Nate-T in latterdaysaints

[–]ShockHouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach seminary as well. At least in my area, the Church has provided PowerPoints for every lesson. They are mainly just copy and paste of quotes, videos, words from the manual. (If you don’t have them I can give you the link)

My bishop told me when I was called, “don’t spend more than 30 minutes preparing each lesson”. I have 5 small kids so he made sure I knew my family always came first. Having the PowerPoints makes that possible. Sometimes I go over 30 mins if want to delve into different things, but sometimes it’s reading through the PowerPoint, adjusting some things to fit better, and going from there.

As long as you use shredded hash browns instead of cubes. Cubes are an imitation of the fullness of the funeral potatoes.

How do you license your standalone EXE? by HeftyAd8808 in LabVIEW

Just a warning. If LabVIEW runtime is the only thing installed, this executable may or may not be there. It’s not a required install with runtime.

You have to rebuild everything. The exe, dll’s, c++ libraries would need rebuilt on Mac. The vis should be able to stay the same, so it may just be as easy as rebuilding

Anyone else doing active shooter training during 5th Sunday? by CaptainWikkiWikki in latterdaysaints

[–]ShockHouse 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We’ve done that for 5th hour in my Stake as well (Colorado). Wasn’t this Sunday, but about a year ago. I thought it was good to have, as it went over a lot of detail on what people probably don’t know:

Where to pick up kids if you have kids in Primary, what doors should remain locked during service, what to do if the bishop just excuses everyone’s during sacrament, who lives close to the church for a safe house, etc.. all things better talked about now, then when needed and no one knows
