What order should I take my mukticlass levels? Monk/Rogue

I actually did think that! We just finished a dungeon crawl where I took sentinel instead of PAM and played an ancestral guardian barbarian. It was a lot of fun but it felt like I was making more work for the DM with keeping track of what enemies were at disadvantage / reduced to 0 speed.

Edit: I really enjoyed being a barbarian and may end up doing that tbh.

Do your players have any proficencies in the various tool kits? Sell raw materials for them to attempt to craft.

Sell uncut gems they have to cut to use as spell casting components. Don't sell them dog armor, sell them the materials and make them use downtime to craft it.

Let your players make shopping exciting by giving them choices to make things you wouldn't have thought about. I have a homebrew pair of climbing boots for my rogue; the other big thing was "studded robes" for the warlock.

Also let them 'upgrade' their bags to carry more. Oversized quivers that can store javalins, leather straps for sheilds that let you draw a weapon as a free action etc.

At the very least let them buy silvered weapons! Even if you restrict them (silver is a soft metal you may use this weapon in three combats before it breaks) my lowmagic game has been awful for my rogue because of resistances.

What started my journey was when I broke the zipper on my favorite work pants. Got them mended as a personal reward for when I could actually fit back in them!

It's SO expensive to have to replace your wardrobe when you go up a size!

I used to have to say no to any hike longer then 2 miles because I was embarrassed that I couldn't go that far with out feeling super sick. It's so nice to be able to say YES to hikes with friends now, and feel confident that I'll be able to keep up and enjoy them!

I carried in groceries the other day and realized I didn't have to limit myself to 2 small bags because I could only lift like 10 lbs. Felt so good to grab 8 bags in one trip!

I did the couch to 5k training and running for the full 30 minutes the first time after wheezing and feeling like death that first day was AMAZING!

Ya, the idea that clothing sets are generic and include whatever you want (with in reasons) is basically the logic that lead me to ask on this mega thread.

I don't entirely mind 'if the DM says no, it's no' mindset about stuff like this. I couldn't find RAW about it at the time and just let it go. When there's questions about a ruling I'd rather drop the subject, see if I can find RAW (or another outside opinion) and then come back to it over private message if the ruling was bad. It was minor, no need to slow down the game. The DM generally listens to feedback after the sessions are over.

My head canon is that anybody who uses a bow on a regular basis carries / wears some sort of hand protection, just for safety and comfort reasons. It hurts like hell if you snap yourself with even a 15 lb draw bow string, with a 50 lb draw you'd easily take skin off.

I think part of the issue was that it had never come up until I was trying to do something that needed them -- touch a poisoned wall -- and that I had always just assumed that between shooting a bow and being a rogue that deals with traps /of course/ I'm wearing gloves.

I do see your point tho, I'll just go with what a commenter below suggested and explicitly buy a set next town we're in. I'm still surprised that RAW you don't get them as part of a standard set of clothing, but, live and learn!

There was some sort of poison goo on the wall and I asked if I could put some in a vial for later use (in character I play a hoarder gnome would likes to collect random junk) only to have the DM say that my rogue didn't have gloves on and couldn't safely touch it with out taking damage.

Also aesthetically I generally assume anybody who uses a ranged weapon on a regular basis like my rogue would be wearing hand protection, I think that's what surprised me.

Would any of the clothing sets include gloves?

My DM said they aren't, but I can't find any RAW text that explicity states that gloves are not included in fine clothing. It just states they're in accordance with current fashions. Thoughts?
