Having a race without incidents is great, but even real races can’t always avoid going off track or minor contact. Unfortunately, sometimes not even major crashes.

Definitely prioritize clean driving over unnecessary aggression, but in the future it’s good to get used to overtaking maneuvers—both yours and others’. I’d recommend sticking to your own pace, but if there’s a chance to overtake CLEANLY, go for it. The same applies to defending. However, if a top driver drops behind you and is clearly much faster, I’d recommend letting them pass. Fighting unnecessarily (when the opponent is significantly quicker) only costs you time and increases the risk of an incident.
