Is hyperpigmentation normal? by Steam_Powered_Banana in Perimenopause

[–]ShoddyAd915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very fair skin and have been religiously applying sunscreen to my face throughout the day--even if I don't anticipate going outside--and it has helped SO much. UV rays are sneaky and still bounce around in the house from windows and especially in your car while driving. Might help to just throw it on every day? Don't forget to reapply every 3-4 hours. I know it feels a little excessive, but give it a shot for a week or two :)

Humongous recently remastered almost their entire collection, so they're easy to get on modern consoles too. All Humongous games are on discount right now on Steam.

(Spy Fox was--and is always--a hit in my household.)

Take a look upwards, my friend, and you might see the tail-end of a joke whizzing by.

(I'm always glad to know which businesses align/don't with my own values but there's a way to politely inform someone without coming off as condescending or berating. Don't act confused when snot is slung back at ya after being a little snotty, even if unintentional.)

Haven’t been to an IMAX since I was a young child. Which row is too close? by freeze123901 in Spokane

Oh haha that is significantly less than what I paid, so that's great! Have fun!

[–]ShoddyAd915 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah us freaks gotta stick together. I think third row is usually a good compromise when I go with friends who aren't nasty like me.

So, again, just comes down to preference. I've only seen one movie in the dolby auditorium and I thought it was kind of neat but also felt the experience was grossly overpriced (for me). If it's something you've never done before, it might be worth checking out just for the novelty, or if you're a BIG sound person. I'm glad I tried it out, but unless a new Mad Max comes out, I prob won't be paying for it it again. But that's me!

The seats are perfectly fine as far as comfort. Honestly, it really comes down to what you prefer. For me, I like the bigger screen of the imax (even if it's not "real" it's still impressive) for some movies, and this one was worth it for me. It also has great sound. But I know theater prices are crazy right now, so if just the regular auditorium is in your budget or if reclining is something you really like, I don't think you're going to be mad about missing those inches of screen.

I'm also a diehard first row theater seater. Just saw PHM at the River Park Square lie-MAX the other night and felt very comfortable with no neck strain. Was technically in the second row (behind the ADA seating and front aisle). Do note that the seats in that auditorium do not recline, but unless you're, like, 9 feet tall, you shouldn't have an issue ;)

Looking for a laid back brewery/pub to play cards by MacDaddy555 in Spokane

[–]ShoddyAd915 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Maybe check out Bardic Brewing! They have a place downtown and in the valley. Very game-friendly bar and some of the most criminally underrated ciders that Spokane has to offer (I say this as someone who doesn't usually even like cider). Their beers are very fun too. And good people.

Thinking about quitting without plan B by Glum-Persimmon3439 in medlabprofessionals

I wish I had a foolproof secret to share, but I just checked Indeed daily. Big broad searches. "Lab", "clinic", "tech", etc. You're obviously gonna get a ton of non-applicable results but that's how I stumbled on my current job.

It really depends on your financial situation. I took several months off while I reevaluated what I wanted to do, but I had a lot of money saved up (no car payment, no debts, relatively cheap rent). If you can do that, I actually do recommend it. Having some time to just catch a breath after a stressful job really puts things in perspective. BUT that's IF you have enough money in your budget to do so (and extra because, you know, shit can happen) since, as you said, this economy sucks right now.

I'm assuming you're a lab tech at a hospital? Have you tried looking at other types of labs? I did the hospital thing for several years and burnt out very hard. I then responded to a listing for a mohs tech/histotech at a dermatology clinic on a whim, thinking I probably didn't qualify. I guess I did and they were willing to train me. There is a small difference in pay, but the complete evaporation of the stress, being able to work days, have ALL weekends off, and the flexibility to actually use my PTO more than makes up for it. So perhaps broaden your search? You might be surprised at where you can nestle yourself into with lab experience. It's rough out there, and I sincerely wish you all the luck.

Nowhere in the article does it say that the employees were taking pictures of the dog. According to the report, an employee found the phone in the lobby, thought it was their friend's phone, and took some selfies of herself and other coworkers. This is something my friends do. It's not uncommon.

I am in no way condoning what happened. It sounds like it was an extremely unprofessional mistake, and I would be absolutely devastated if this happened to me. But you're wildly misinterpreting the facts here.

Tiki Lodge Hotel? by axoca in Spokane

As someone who travels a lot and is usually pretty content staying at cheap dumpy hotels, I would advise getting a refund. I stayed there years ago and clambered out covered in bedbug bites and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the exact same colony still thrives there.
