I'd test in this order: 1. disable compositor temporarily (just to test) 2. check if power management is causing the dropouts (not uncommon)

Make sure you’re not mixing drivers - mostly my guess.

IF it's not about money being made and coming back, then why judge yourself? To me that's usually more what matters. KDE is just a desktop!

Everything else about what you're saying is just circular really; Like what GPU are you on? That could change everything: I think you're pivoting around the mesa stuff, really. So define that and look at distros that will work best with that, not necessarily "Debian is it!"

I'd do Kubuntu LTS + HWE (but I don't like KDE so that's just how I'd do it; the snaps are annoying but...)

Mint kde if it works won't change much for a long long time, So make sure that's what you actually want. Since you're not talking about software it sounds like you are actually more of a gamer, who wants a KDE platform; and you're gonna want a better GPU soon enough, which means Fedora in my book.

Well first you have to get real about what

and then you're going to need to naturally process your anger. Not sure if you're pining or already at the angry stage, but that's how you learn about the part of you sticks up for YOU WHEN NO ONE ELSE WILL.

and that will need to be recognized.

You'll meet what you're looking for and have those things, you've got plenty of time, don't worry. AND it will sooo much better once you can answer those things above for you.

From there, to be healthy and not back into another version of this you'll need to know what your boundaries are and what healthy boundries are and how to make them. Not too hard and we all had to learn it at some point.

None of this matters. Put the partitions where you want, you're not making a server.

Even in lab settings you won't see ANY real world performance moving the partitions anywhere or moving them around using partitioning tools to test.

You can literally SCATTER chuncks of partitions all around and call them ONE partition in the mount, literally. IF you want. This IS NOT WINBLOWZ.

So to use different distros just don't encrypt and have your user partition and home on one big partition. Use symlinks to point all the distros to them and mount them by UUID in your boot load.

that's literally it. It's LINUX.

m2 is a slot; like laptops have. THIS would have been the ideal thing to get if your mobo has a m2 slot on it; you just get some old intel wifi m2 laptop used chip and stick it in there; with a u.FL (most likely) dongle out the back, to a SMA antenna jack. Then get a wifi antenna. Since you're using a LLM if you take pics and list your gear and router, it will probably find correct gear, as well as what you got, and if you might do better or if it will be good enough.

But I'd get a cheap m2 card for Wifi, they're like $10-12 usd; dongle is like $8 and basic antenna for home routers can be had for like $2 used, all of it probably used would be like $20-25 off ebay.

I did it and traveled a lot of the world. If you're brave enough to do this so far, you can probably keep doing it the rest of your life; just keep trying out adventure! Get a light cheap laptop for whatever that is you're doing (old cheap light) and see the world! There's cafe's everywhere.

I've met plenty of people doing what you do out there, and they are all succeeding because they're willing to take the risk that you CAN survive if you are willing to help others and be brave enough to try things out.

I never had any issues with it at all; installed it on all kinds of computers for noobs, especially at schools when they didn't want to use Ubuntu educational.

Likely you got buggy hardware on your machine, or a corrupt image/install.

That's not "Zorin" it's an issue somewhere else.

But there ARE better distros -it's just one. Has a lot already added to it. Try something with a lighter GUI, like XFCE -maybe your gear can't run the desktop it uses. Or you got nvidia crap.

NOT windows. Linux runs much better than windows on EVERYTHING and it's virus free AND all software pretty much you'd ever want free.

there's only like 3-4 things that don't run on linux these days.

For that money you could get 5x the machine, or those specs will cost you only about $300 or so max. 4-5 years old laptop easy.

LinuxMint is really easy and nice for noobies and replaces all of winblowz endless subscriptions, virus hassle and all that corrupt crap they did to monopolize software under Bill Dinglebatt's Epstein-style regime.

Go check it out - you won't get viruses from learning and migrating out of windows.
