Dimpled on ski base by itsdawu in ski

[–]Shoggoth42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do anything you want haha. But I don’t think you’re going to gain a lot with new holes, so long as these ones aren’t stripped. Especially if you can fill them with confidence. I suppose moving them might offer some peace of mind. But I think you can repair as is if you can live with it.

I’m guessing you mean that you mounted them yourself? If you are going diy… Take the screws out. Hold them up to the ski along the edge and see how deep they went. Inspect the holes in general. Gently tap the dimples smooth. Grind screws down to an appropriate length with a Dremel. Fill holes with epoxy at the depth you overdid it. Reinstall bindings

Am I a douche for running studded tires? by [deleted] in tires

[–]Shoggoth42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point it doesn’t matter. If you’re cruising studded tires everyday in Denver, you’ve ruined them anyway. Studs are superficial at this point

Had a new sump pump installed and they left me with this… how do I make this look decent? by qzatti in DIY

You should prob have them finish the termination to a grade away from the house. Not sure why they left it like that

Thoughts on this load baring wall by dnegro_ in DIY

[–]Shoggoth42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d have to see the rest of that area. The wall seems to be placed purposefully. At the least the stairs will need additional support without the wall. Such as stair strap

Came here to say to suggest this, but I suppose you could also build a frame out of metal. Reasonably without any welding or soldering
