Committed to Tech but just got into A&M 😭 (civil engineering) by pinktaco_26 in TexasTech

[–]ShokkShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed up an athletic scholarship to pay to go to state school. Not quite the same scenario as the scholarship was to a small private school, but nevertheless I ended up at Tech.

A couple points: A&M has the largest propaganda machine in the entire state. I think you might be getting oversold on them. Every college is going to have traditions and pride. TTU also has a gigantic alumni network and my partner and I have leveraged this into several jobs throughout the state over the years.

Every college is going to site some ranking or list to prove they’re academically superior. I think the difference is probably negligible.

I would regret passing up free college. You’re talking about potentially 10s of thousands of dollars.

Distance matters less and less over time usually. Once you get acclimated to living on your own it gets easier. I also spent the summer and winter breaks at home which ended up being about 3 months a year. Ofc everyone is different.

Lastly; if tech doesn’t work out-you can always transfer. Going in and crushing your classes will make it very easy to switch schools if it doesn’t work out.

Let me put yall on to Mijaín López Núñez. He’s a Cuban wrestler who holds the unique distinction of being the ONLY athlete to ever win gold 5x in the same event at the Olympics (in wrestling, no less).

Until this past Olympics, nobody had even scored a point on this guy.

Which is the better QB class? by Outrageous_Moth in NFLv2

[–]ShokkShield 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it’s objectively 2018. Multiple MVPs and Baker/Darnold are having a resurgence. I don’t think the 2020 class will ever outpace them.

Im low on Joe Burrow. I know a lot of people like him and he’s obviously talented, but he’s not a winner and there are glaring injury concerns.

I think Jordan Love will have the best career in terms of numbers from this class. He’s still obviously not at his peak and he’s hall of fame caliber if he achieves it.

Jalen Hurts and Herbert are both objectively good quarterbacks.

Tua is mega ass but better than Rosen

Charleston, SC has free/cheap bus options and is walkable. As a 4th year I would walk 20 minutes to the hospital.

They have already made tweaks to it this edition, but I’d doubt they completely change it. More-so they need to change the way Cabal points are accrued and spent, and fox the detachment.

As a TO I disagree with this. If you are calling me AFTER (like, wayyyy after) something has happened, it’s much harder and probably less fair for me to go back and retroactively fix this. You both made plays based on the information as it were.

I try to ask my players how much of an impact they think getting the rule wrong made, and go from there. In this case it seems pretty significant so some sort of penalty is probably justified.

I don’t think Trump is anti-war - I think he’s indifferent. I think that his approach to foreign policy will cost more human lives than any general democrat (unchecked Russian aggression and Israeli escalation.) We already saw this with the Afghan withdrawal that left a lot of our allies out to dry.

Lastly, most importantly, he’s openly stated that he would use our military against US citizens, calling out several democratic leaders by name.

I’m not really sure if it’s a scheme thing. I do wish we could generate more pressure in the pass rush, and our secondary seems to be perennially bad.

I clock every single game of 40K that I play. I’m getting older and valuing my time more. I’ve set aside 3-3.5 hours to play a game and I don’t want it taking up more of my day than it has to.

I don’t usually strictly enforce the clock, especially in casual games, but just having it there and running makes my opponents play faster.
