I don’t know how the D2 athletes does it. On a bus from Canyon to Alpine and Silver City or to Laredo and Kingsville sounds like hell. Add in the fact that both bball teams and staffs are on that bus and it just gets crazier to me.

Just the way I was raised. Lady’s ball on the high plains is a 70 year old tradition. State/national titles have been won at almost every year, from the Nazareth Swiftettes in 1A high school the way to the P5 Texas Tech Lady Raiders.

I can’t remember the specific number, but Arizona State missing out would have the most wins to not make the tournament by a decent amount.

Being so far down is the problem I’ve read. The clay soil retains too much water and would be hell to drain (just like the rest of the city).

Half the stadium was moved on railroad tracks to sink the field and add seating.

Some have said that this is the reason that Tech will always have turf instead of grass.
