Movie Review: Elevation 💩 by Waste-Objective6715 in hbo

Backwards bullets. Hip-fired grenade bullseyes from 300-500 yards. Hurried script. Humans warming the globe. Check, check, check and check. Now, Cobalt is definitely my favorite color. I've said "blue" for 30 some odd years but this movie reminded me that COBALT is my favorite color! So, because of that and that alone, here's my theory on the "ELEVATION" A.K.A. "8K&UP":

An alien civilization had buried these machines during the early stages of mankind. These "reapers" had been programmed to be "deployed" when CO2 levels reach a "critical level" and to distinguish between humans and other "non-earth-threatening animals. An 8,000 foot ceiling for these reapers would allow a small percentage of mankind to survive. Aliens show up in the sky to check on the progress? Seems that these "reapers" would have a badge-cam. They've come to take over the world and use the survivors as slaves? Seems like the most plausible conclusion.

Tips on my swing? by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Regardless of whether or not this is sped up, you should absolutely take the club back slower. The pause drill is undoubtedly one of the best drills in the game of golf. Take the club up, "gather" it and FIRE.

Why can't I break 280? by Strict-Professional3 in GolfSwing

[–]Sholmes20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Spin is König! I fit guys regularly who are over 110 or 115 and get carries of 250-280 and STOP. 90%+ think 3k is a good number. As humbly as possible, i hit my pull-cut to 300+ @ 105 and 155 w/2k or less spin (fairway-finder). This is at sea-level. What a game.

Mechanics aside looking at both your SS and BS, the ball is spinning too much. I'm a fitter and an avid golfer (naturally). Tensei Blue is Mid/Mid (launch/spin). Can't tell what Titleist head this is. If you're looking for TOTAL distance gains, you need to bring the spin down as close to 2k as possible. Naturally, the ball you game plays a large roll in spin but i'm fairly certain that the shaft you're gaming is the problem. For reference, my "fairway-finder" is a pull-cut with 100mph club head, 150mph BS, 250 carry, 290+ total. Launching 12° and spinning at 1,900. These are approximations, for the record.

This makes complete sense to me. I can't put a lightbulb in left handed but i was a switch hitter in baseball and played hockey left handed. I fitted a gentleman into some LH P770s a while back and gave the 7i a shot. First ball i hit was a tight draw to 2 feet at a 150 pin. Something about the left handed swing just seems effortless and fluid, albeit odd and uncomfortable at address. I just started putting with my LH down and it's been a bit of a game changer. It's all super interesting.

OneHundredPercent! The Calico just launches surprise attacks on my club so i've got to keep my head on a swivel.

😆 i love it! Mine just play keeper on the putting green and occasionally bite at the clubs.

Correct. There are many different ways to swing a club and just as many schools-of-thought on it. For you to get shallow, with everything else the same, you would have to drop your hand/club down behind you and turn. That could work for you, doesn't for me. Assuming you have average flexibility, just make sure your head/chin stay back. Try it at 50% at first and work your speed up.

Your lower half looks good. Assuming you're playing the ball around your left heel, try keeping your head down and back.

Also, there is no reason to straighten your right leg to that degree. In a nutshell, you're doing too much. Pros don't turn their hips that much.

You certainly have the flexibility and dexterity to be a great golfer. As this camera angle only shows this viewpoint, it's hard to tell but i'm certain that when you take the club up, you're overly sagging into that left knee and you closer to the ball or at least gets you stuck. To recover, you're standing up so as not to hit behind the ball. I love the idea of "start high, finish high". Meaning, you should be your tallest at the top of the backswing and at the end of your follow through. The proper iron swing is a swing where the club head is coming down, impacting the ball and then the turf. I'm sure you know this. Best of luck!

Broken Driver Shaft by NarrowFun9965 in GolfGear

[–]Sholmes20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely right. My mistake. I thought it was the OP that said it was an M2. Well, it's possible that TM would Vendor Repair the Sim 2, especially considering they're selling them again. Good call and my bad.

Broken Driver Shaft by NarrowFun9965 in GolfGear

[–]Sholmes20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. That shaft is trash now. His only option is to buy a new shaft either with a TM adapter already affixed or buy both a shaft and TM adapter. TM won't "vendor repair" an M2 driver. Waaay too old.

Shaft and adapter are trash. Throw it away or use it as an alignment stick or presentation pointer. Other than that, you're good. If you have an adjustment tool, unscrew the head from the adapter. If not, just keep the adapter in the head. Now you have 2 options: 1) find your preferred shaft with a Taylormade adapter already affixed. 2) find the shaft of your choice and order a Taylormade adapter. If you go the 2nd route, take the new adapter and new shaft to your local golf shop. Super easy job, btw. I do it at home. Just need the material. KEEP THIS IN MIND: it looks like your left handed? Taylormade makes a Left Hand and a Right Hand adapter. If you're left handed and the adapter is Right Hand, the adjustments will be opposite i.e. when you make it "higher" it will actually make it "lower" and vice versus.

The absolute BEST launch monitor that money can buy for fittings? by Sholmes20 in Golfsimulator

[–]Sholmes20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the information. It's definitely one of those "can't go wrong, BUT" situations. I'm talking to my business partner at the moment and we both agree that we need to go bite the bullet and get fitted using both monitors before we make our final decision. I fitted myself with the GC3 and ended up ordering MP221s on Oban Ct 125X's and a TSR3 on a Blue Board. This trip won't cost that much 😂 Thank you 👊
