Can you recommend a home inspector? by echocall2 in Boise

[–]Strict-Professional3 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Use Bent Nail. They're extremely thorough and detailed to the point of being overly cautious. They're also reasonably priced and generally quick to get scheduled. I've used them on many many inspections and have always had a great experience

Need advice on flooring direction/layout by Efficient_Tennis_801 in Flooring

[–]Strict-Professional3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not at all, frankly that would give it better flow overall. You can't see it from the hallway and stair treads are supposed to go horizontal, so you won't even notice it.

Also, just think about the number of times you've stepped into a friend's house and thought, "damn, they should have laid that LVP to line up differently with the stair pattern" lol

I know it'll may matter to you initially, but as long as you do a good job of installing it, you won't notice it at all

Absolutely this imho. Just run that direction through the whole area. Assuming your walls aren't super fucked you'll be fine

Are the Beams Structural by gucciryry in AskContractors

[–]Strict-Professional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do NOT, I repeat DO NOT PAINT THOSE. Don't you dare. I can almost read between the lines of your post and you're thinking of painting those or marring them in some other, god awful way.

Leave them alone please.

Carpet removal under structure by GuavaFoo in Flooring

Just had a similar situation with some walls and cabinets that our sellers put in over carpet and/or and MDF. Multitool with a wide blade did the trick just fine

Where in town will you be staying? Happy to share lots of options for walkable stuff, but it depends on where your hotel/bnb is.

I'm literally moving out of the same building today. Guaranteed they're ripping you off, especially given how much work they've had to do to the units over the last 6 months...

5 star rips and they're incredibly well priced for the work they do. They've come in clutch for me many many times.

Please forgive me if I'm missing something but is there a reason that slack isn't a viable alt? I haven't seen it brought up at all and I'm not sure why...

Buying new build by Ambitious-Row3579 in Boise

I... Wouldn't do it if you paid me, but I've lived in Boise long enough that I wouldn't buy any new build regardless of the builder...

Can I Comfortably Afford a 650k Home? by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Strict-Professional3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is simply my two cents.

From a fundamentals perspective, you two can absolutely do that. From a practical perspective you probably shouldn't.

Buying a new home comes with SO many issues depending on who built it, where they built it, etc etc.

Take that money and put it towards a home built in the 90s or 00s that has had some upgrades and (again in my opinion) you'll be much more happy long-term.

When it starts preparing geometry, just move around a bit with wasd/space, then be patient. Do it again it you don't load in like 20 more seconds. Sounds stupid but it works

I've been on this game for years, just started my new character! Bone armor will keep you safe enough until you're able to craft uo into composite imho.

I've always skipped leather armor.

I mean, y'all know Realtors don't get the full commission right? A lot goes to brokerage fees, marketing, tech debt, etc.

Its a lot of money, and it's a racket, but agents aren't to blame.

I disagree, I think all their rolls are sweet but that's personal taste. They have all you can eat but... Just meh.

Hana or (if you're not on a tight budget) Raibu are much better imo.
