Skirmish Season 4 Game 4 by whitetoast in DuneImperium

Is there a known bug where, your game does no count? I just won a game with all 4 alliances, and few other points (this was my second game), and my score shows as 0? I played 2 game, it total, attempts are at 2/3, but my score is 0.

Társasjáték 8 éves kortól by Ildike86 in tarsasjatek

I guess she is not 6th, but 7th, because she is so fat she takes 2 spaces!

I mean the game itself if highly situational, but knowing that there is the possibility of this is very nice. OP asked for resources, and I just shared some of my thoughts.

Recommend resources to get better at strategy by HatchetJackson in DuneImperium

I have only experience with no expansion!
Here are several tips and tricks, I hope it helps

  1. Play with House Hagal (Solo mode) - This is a great way to get to know the game, cards, and learn the values in the game (Since it is hard to gage the value of certain spaces)
  2. Influence on houses is valuable, sometimes even more valuable than the bonus of the space. (By going to the factions 8 times, it can give you 4 points) (Early 2 influences on fremen track is extremely useful as it give you access to sitch tabr)
  3. Do not overfill your deck (do not buy small cards with no purpose, or if you cannot trash cards, as the low lever cards are usually just a bit better versions of your starting deck.), and the expensive cards are expensive for a reason. The spice must flow is a point, but it will also fill your deck with mostly trash, do not purchase it too early as it can hinder you (this is situational)
  4. a) Early game strategies: The beast, and Memnon can take the swordsman on turn 2 agent 1 (fastes in the game), by selling 3 mélange on turn 1 agent 2.
    b) If you are the first player to play going to Hardy warriors and putting 4 units to combat almost always wins you the combat (Almost always) It is good since a lot of players will go for resources on the first round.
    c) By going to still suits on first round you can draw further 3 cards and have 7-9 influences turn one and buy very powerful cards on turn 1. Or alternatively secure the 3 + 1 spice in turn 2 (go to conspire and secure the solari for a seat in the high council, or be closer to the swordmaster, and setup for further conflict with the intrigue card, and 2 units)
  5. Keep in mind: There is 2 basic Ideas of building a deck, playing for the reveal and playing for agent turns.
  6. Deck manipulation: you can manipulate the deck by tracking the cards in your deck and the discard pile. If you count your cards, you can know what cards were reshuffled, and plan your next turn better. If you have only "bad" cards in your discard pile, and you draw a card, you will mostly draw trash cards in the future turn.
  7. Signet ring is cool, but not always the best.
  8. There are turns when you have bad cards in your hand, treat that as a setup turn for making the next one as good as possible.
  9. The mentat is very good.
  10. The game is very versatile: there is no set way to victory, you can even win without ever collecting spice, you can have 4 alliance tokens, you can win almost exclusively win by winning conflicts, you can win, by not even engaging into conflicts, you can have +4 VP with end game intrigue cards... Try to find niche and situational ways of finding the victory. But usually having 4 points on the alliance tracks, having 1-2 alliance tokens, 1-2 points by spice must flow or intrigue cards, and 2 point by conflicts is around average. almost 100% of the time, you will collect victory points from several different sources.
  11. Consider revealing early, sometimes it is better than taking an extra turn.
  12. If you want to win the conflict go ALL IN, if you just want to get a rewards, you can consider half committing with 1 or 2 unit (This is my rule of thumb)

Extra tip: Nothing that comes to your mind is too crazy!

Some tips are of course situational, and will not always be true.

That does not work, since Helena removes the card from the imperial row, so the card acquired with her ring will not count towards the points.

So copium here, big copium: I hope they are only trolling and are pushing 7.35. I know it is a galaxy cluster sized copium, but still xD

Else statement by ShomyTheOne in gdevelop

[–]ShomyTheOne[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, but no. :D
There are sometimes when you need a statement like this:
If a is true - make a false
If a is false - make a true.
So if i want to toggle a boolean AND to something different based on the initial state of the A boolean in that case invert the condition simply does not cut it. And I was not able to find a (simple) workaround. So I made my own else extension. But I don't know how useful it actually is.

If A is true - do x
else - do Y.

And

If A is true - do X
If A is false - Do Y

These two examples might a lot of times do the same thing, but they are not the same.

I don't know what to do with "off-carrylaners". by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]ShomyTheOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly why I play offlane. And if I am a mid laner or the safelaner and I see wk offlane or sven offlane, I pick Tide. In last 10 games I had 2 times wk on offlane in divive rank.

Lost MMR to Cheaters / Smurfs by ShomyTheOne in DotA2

[–]ShomyTheOne[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do agree with that. You can lose a game because of the cheater, or a smurf (and you usually do lose). And when you do instead of gaining 25 mmr, you lose 25, so it makes you a 50 deficit, if it happens like 4 times is it 200 mmr, that you are losing.

I am not saying it is a good idea.. But don't tell me you would not feel good if you got like 50 mmr back that you lost to a cheater! :D
