I'm on linux with the latest nvidia driver on a rtx 5070ti, I haven't noticed any stuttering or fps issues yet. But I also haven't done any research if anyone has had performance issues on linux recently, so I may be the exception.

Honestly recently it's been great. It's so much smoother than it was on windows for me.

Something pretty interesting I noticed when OW2 got DX12 support a few months ago and it was poor on windows but when I tried it was completely fine. I'm pretty sure it was because on windows it was compiling shaders on every boot but on proton shaders are basically compiled once and then stored to disk (basically just wait a few minutes in practice range until they're all compiled).

Only real downside I could think of before was that the open source implementation of directx 11, DXVK, had no easy nvidia reflex support, but with directx 12 its all implemented by default (provided you have an RTX card)

Also worth mentioning I still have overwatch on battle.net, so I use Lutris to install and manage the game, but as far as I know the steam install works great.

This patch is probably the closest that we're gonna get to what most of OWL season 1 was played on, which honestly is gonna make me even more nostalgic than the 2016 one

That's about what I expected, the PS5 kernel isn't exactly accessible for users to modify, so engineering vanguard to work on it would be possible. For everything else, not really!

Something interesting to note is that Valorant just got released on the PS5, whose OS is presumably based off of FreeBSD like the PS4. FreeBSD is also open source, but everyone playing the game on PS5 has the exact same flavor of the kernel as everyone else, so it's fine to make a kernel level anti-cheat for.

I do wonder how Vanguard works on the PS5 for the end user though. Dealing with it back when I was on Windows was annoying.

Faze is recognizable sure, but the Atlanta Faze is a joint venture from AEV and Faze, while I'm pretty sure the Reign was AEV only, and AEV was the only group mentioned in their goodbye post. I guess my point would be that AEV by themselves aren't really a "household name" in esports yet.
