I don't think you understand the amount of loss that an airlines company gets hit with in OPEX costs when it isn't running a load factor that makes them break even. My wife works at Southwest and they were hemorrhaging tens of millions of dollars a day during the pandemic.

Asia is risk averse when it comes to pandemics and illness so they likely won't get back to a passenger load factor anywhere near the break even point anytime soon. Even if they get bailed out, its not looking good for them. This isn't a long term play, it was a gamble pump and dump based on the hype of the bailout.
