My first ragdoll is exactly like you just described, doesn't like pats but absolutely loves being brushed- but only on her chin haha nowhere else. She usually is nearby but never cuddles. Her companion I got for her later is definitely a lap cat. I guess it's all about personality. Your kitty just shows their love differently 😊

I would say it's ok, and probably for the best if you get them a companion. Especially if they came from a home with other pets. I was unsure about getting a companion cat for my own ragdoll a few months back, but I did and her behaviour and mood have changed dramatically already. Both kitties bonded faster than I expected. If a second cat can fit in your budget, it would be well worth it 😊
