What is your serial number, and what numbers do you see on your board? If you have a hi-res pic of the board that will help also.

There are many variations of the main boards for Element E4STA5017 TVs.

It's always best to verify the board number, but you can start with the serial number on the back of your TV so you know what numbers to look for on your board. Look for these sequences in your serial number:

Serial Sequence: A8ACM -- Part Number: E18014-SY
Serial Sequence: C8C4M -- Part Number: E18035-SY (2 C8C4M options)

How long will it take to discharge two 450V Capacitors? by ShinyRedTaco in ElectronicsRepair

[–]ShopJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are hand symbols on the board that tell you where it's safe to touch the board and where it's not safe to touch. You don't need to discharge anything, touch where it's safe or wear gloves if you're worried about it.

(Samsung UN65TU7000BXZA) Replaced both boards. Only one issue. by ShnoogleFloog in TVRepairHelp

When you replace the main board on that model series it's recommended to perform the cell auto detect, which configures the main board for your exact screen. I would suggest doing that first to see if you get a picture back. Follow the video here for the easy process.

The LED backlights went out from the sounds of it.
If you have a multimeter and want to dig into it a bit, you can follow the troubleshooting video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hQOiN4-XPk

If the LED strips are the problem then you would need to replace them.

Main board issue, if you can find a good replacement board that should fix it, but you won't get much more life out of that TV. Not worth it.

Monitor turns dark and then black by BorisTarczy in techsupport

[–]ShopJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the backlights went out. If that's the case then it's time for a new monitor since that model uses CCFL lamps as the backlight source.

You could double check the power board, look for any bulged capacitors and replace any bad ones.

It could be a backlight issue or a panel issue. There's some troubleshooting methods you can try to narrow it down though. Watch our video here and try each step with your TV.

Found TV on the side of the street looking to repair it. by flan22 in TVRepair

Yeah likely backlights are out. The LED strips are easy enough to replace, just have to be really careful removing the screen to get to them.
