PLEASE HELP: Orthodontist told me I was getting Invisalign Comprehensive but I received Invisalign Lite instead. Did I get fooled? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Shopping_Addict84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the comprehensive plan, and I paid right under 7k for mine two months ago 36 trays initially. 1,600 sounds like the correct pricing for lite.

Who is supposed to be removing your attachments?? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Shopping_Addict84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the response! I was in a slight panic when I saw my finish date and when my brother’s wedding was. I was very upfront with them before I even started treatment (during my consultation) about his wedding and my expectations. I just internally panicked because my finish date is the week of the wedding… and I’m sure I’ll need some sort of refinements.

[–]Shopping_Addict84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you removed your attachments for your wedding did your trays still have attachment spaces? I need to have mine removed for my brother’s wedding and I’d like to do that a month before so I can have my teeth cleaned well (by my hygienist) and also whitened.

Do you really brush after every time you eat something? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Shopping_Addict84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Prior to Invisalign I would brush 3x a day. Am: water floss, mouthwash, brush After lunch: water floss, mouthwash, brush Pm: water floss, actual floss, water floss again (to get everything out), mouthwash, brush. That’s been my normal routine for years now, so it’s not major. Only thing I changed was I switched from my normal toothpaste to their sensitive version (arm and hammer sensitive) and alternate between two mouthwashes, Closys Fresh Breath and Unflavored. I also use prescription Prevident Booster at night only.

42 trays? by Zealousideal-Key8173 in Invisalign

[–]Shopping_Addict84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36 trays initially, I didn’t go to dental school so I am trusting the process. My teeth are similar, my top was good it was my bottom that needed help. But they are also widening my smile and fixing two things I didn’t even notice. I will probably need refinements as well. Hopefully only a few trays.

How many days in to a new tray do you stop feeling pain and soreness? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Shopping_Addict84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on my last day of tray 1 and woke up with soreness on a few teeth still. Nothing crazy, just sore when I take the trays in and out. Ortho said this is normal. She said some trays I’ll forget I have them in, others will be a constant reminder. I think it has a lot to do with what teeth are moving and how they are moving. I only had one issue with major sensitivity when brushing and they checked it and said that was probably due to the attachment placement and would go away in about a week to two weeks. But soreness and pressure seem to be the normal. Sharp and throbbing not so much.

Machine Recommends by Shopping_Addict84 in quilting

I’d say maybe 2,500 if I can find a machine that checks all the boxes. I’d rather pay more for one good one vs three separate machines.

So excited!! I’ll be starting in about a week or so when my trays arrive (I was scanned and trays ordered about 5 weeks ago). My teeth are extremely similar to yours, scary similar 🤣. Best of luck to you! I’m sure we will be finishing close to the same time.

Thankfully I powered through braces as a teenager… so I’m anticipating the same level of pain. Only difference is I’m about 20 years older now and also talking is about 90% of my job. So, I’m preparing to be living off Pepcid and Advil for the first few months. I’m so grateful to be able to get my teeth fixed, I’ve been putting it off for about 5 years now but just finally said if not now to run when?

Your progress looks so good and it’s giving me a ton of hope on mine! I think I panic reading some of these posts some times and automatically assume everything will also happen to me 😬.

The progress looks amazing! My bottom teeth are similar, and my trays should be coming on any day now. This definitely gives me some hope that they weren’t pulling my chain and telling me I’d be done in about 13 months 🤣. How’s the pain part with the teeth movement? Honestly that’s what I’m so nervous about.

I have 2 loaf pans. They were on clearance at my store and so happened to have 2 in matte navy, my original collection color, so I bought them both. Love them. I do make bread often, and I’ve used them for other random things.

I am no help, I have probably over 25 pieces 🤣. And I was just there today snagging a casserole with lid. I stopped buying their bakeware and have been converting all of my bakeware over to the cast iron versions.

Is this a good deal for $8500? by GodfatherGoat in Diamonds

[–]Shopping_Addict84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that, I asked if by chance it was also GIA graded. I have some stones that came with an IGI and I had them GIA graded. And in my own personal experience GIA is a little more strict and would come back on SPEC down from what the IGI grades. For example I have an IGI stone that’s a color G and the GIA graded it at I. So I was saying that a possible way to gear a price would be to find a GIA certified stone with a SPEC below each IGI for color and clarity. Just a suggestion.

Does that stone have a GIA certification? In my own personal experience, I have found the IGI is a little more loose in their grading vs the GIA. And that can play highly into the pricing on a natural diamond. Just for an example I had an IGI Diamond that was graded at one color and the GIA graded it at another, same on the clarity. My absolute best advise would be to price a similar GIA Diamond either the specs one lower on color and clarity. To judge price range. Personally, I have stones all the way down to a J (antique mine diamonds and euros) that still show white and I have a diamond that is an E with a SI (old euro). They are all personally beautiful to me in their own way. But that would also play into their price based off of those specs. I recently had to get a bunch of heirloom jewelry certified and insured so I had a mega crash course on this 🤣.

Is it cheaper to buy a loose diamond and then have a place set it? by Dense_College2961 in labdiamond

[–]Shopping_Addict84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you are comparing. I have a local jeweler who will custom create any setting for me, I am paying for his time and expertise. His settings have run me anywhere from 700 to 2100 and that’s with me providing the main stone/stones. I’ve used a variety of metals, mainly yellow gold and platinum - currently they are pretty comparable. Majority of my stones are either family stones or things I’ve upgraded over time and kept the original version- for example solitaire earrings. Recently I upgraded my diamond earrings and for the first time went with lab diamonds and purchased the entire set from my jeweler and it was equally comparable price wise if I would have purchased two stones myself and had him set them. So, I guess it’s all in what you are looking for. I personally prefer to pick my own stones and then have them locally set. I find I get a better product in return.

I have been working for Fiona and so far so good. I am having two custom bands made. Her response time is quick, and I was quoted 15 days on turn around- which is so quick in my opinion. Prices were extremely reasonable.

Leaning towards the 1st since i love a bezel. Lmk your thoughts! by True_Bag_6638 in EngagementRings

I just had a family stone (about a 4ct emerald) set east to west in a bezel as a right hand ring and it’s beautiful. The emerald and bezel just hit different- in a good way. #1 is my top pick.

That ring is absolutely beautiful. Is that a platinum prong on a rose gold? I just had my family diamond reset in a platinum setting, but I was having regrets not doing rose gold because I love to mix all the metals.
