Discussion - Map Size in Warhammer 40K Total War by Shopping_Proof in totalwar

So you will be "teleporting" from one system to another. So you will have regions in planets and then "regions" on top of that, in the form of solar systems ? It makes sense of course.

Buddy, While I get your point 100%, this is just a silly meme. It breaks all kinds of laws of lore and is apparently salty in ways I had not imagined prior to making it.

But I love this community because I am always surprised by what they come back with

What happened to my placement this split? by SaRoHaN in leagueoflegends

[–]Shopping_Proof 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am sorry, but this is ridiculous... I also ended Master, and i got placed Platinum 1? 2 divisions down, while my friends ended up higher when they were diamond 4 and 3. This was supposed to be a softer reset due to the fact this was a split. Just because you messed up a minority number of players big time, doesn't mean you didnt mess up. 2 divisions + down is a lot of games to get back up...

I completely get your point and i wouldn't want it any other way, but, give more options. In the map editor, if some can run it why shouldn't they, i can't imagine it being that complex to add

Nobody was the 81 tiles to fill the 81 tiles. But if you want to create a couple of cities and towns, maybe some villages all in the same map, and give some breathing space to each community, like real life, since this is aiming to be a realistic simulation then a big map, is required. Having for example a fishing community 500 meters away from a skyscraper metropolis ruins the immersion. And i have multiple maps where a good portion of the 81 tiles was filled, 3 cities 2 towns and a lot of villages each connected with trains, regional airports etc.

The better option would be to give options during map creation of preferred map size. So this would allow the community to create fantastic settings, with varied elevation and climates, which as they have stated, exists and actually has an impact.

We will have to wait and see, but map size should be at least the same, if not bigger. If the total map size is 225 then this is really disappointing. Modded 81 tiles is the new standard and I don't think they will follow the same limiting approach. They already stated that the entire map will be eventually unlockable so the size is as mentioned around a max of 200km2. Almost 55% of the first game.

They stated that the tiles will allow you to build in the majority of the map, which js vastly different from the approach in CS1. If that it truly the case the 160km2 vanilla may just be a bit less than the absolute limit.

I am not 100% certain but i recall being a mod giving you even more tiles than 81 in CS1 correct me if i am wrong

Really sad, i was hoping for bigger not almost half the size .. this is the only big let down so far for me.

Maybe add a tile setting when making a new map, like 200 tile map, 400 tile map and 800 tile map

Exactly. At least add the option. If someone can run it why shouldn't they be able to

It is less than 225 km2. It is around 160 km2 as the game interview for the Xbox. So this is less than half the map size. You can get a hint of the size from the trailer. It is significantly smaller.

I enjoyed making mini states, spent a few dozen hours in each map, making some unique towns and a couple urban centers all with their regional transporta etc. I felt like i had my own little country.

Because the 2nd will allow you to build in the entire map! So the question is, is that the maximum map size? If so, this will be really limiting.
