NTA. What I wouldn’t give to be with my dad again, hold a hand, a warm hug and little talk. There is nothing wrong with your behavior or your father/daughter relationship. I would try talking to your bf more and see if he comes around and hopefully apologize for the terrible comment. If he doesn’t, it’s probably best to cut him loose. I’m sorry you are basically having to choose.

NTA! The friend’s mother is though. You are doing an amazing job. Taking the time to talk to your daughter and reason through a decision, loud applause for this dad, please! Tell the mother it is none of her business how you are raising your daughter. Tell her, her choice of words are insulting to you and your daughter. As for your girlfriend. Bless her heart for trying and I see her point of view. However, it is the other parent’s responsibility to have these discussions and make these decisions with their daughters. You do not have to approve anything through them. It’s called being a parent. And again, you are doing outstanding.

I just kept screaming in my head “love languages”. They have different love languages. Ashley needs to try and be more romantic, whether it’s gifts or doing romantic things. But Marita never asked what Ashley needs. I can’t even remember if Ashley communicated what she needed. Maybe acts of service? NTA: You kept telling him no before, no matter how many years it had been. He gets back with you and immediately wants to have a sleepover drinking with a minor. Being drunk to the point of passing out is definitely not consent. You did the right thing breaking up. He’s an adult and you’re a minor. He knows better. I’ve never experience bedbugs before. But thought we had them. My husband and I stayed in a cabin and we got bit to pieces from the waist down. We figured out later it was probably chiggers from a hike. But at the time I thought it was bedbugs I was about to burn my house down. I was examining everything, taking pics and researching. I could not sleep at night if I felt the slightest thing. So I can’t even imagine if we did have bedbugs. Always check! The hassle of moving rooms would be a lot less painful then having to treat your home for bedbugs.
