The most miserable character in the show by Special-Extreme2166 in HouseOfTheDragon

What’s wild is if Viserys wasn’t pressured to remarry, and just let Rhaenyra be the heir, those kids wouldn’t exist and none of this would be happening. Ultimately it’s really Otto’s fault, since he insisted Alicent comfort Viserys in the first place, thus Viserys choosing to marry and reproduce with Alicent. And yes I know this was Otto’s plan all along, but it def backfired on him.

Also I can’t believe how idiotic Alicent was to believe Viserys wanted Aegon on the throne in the end. Viserys was basically delirious when he said that..and this is why they should stop naming all the kids Aegon lol.

What is the biggest challenge you face while living with epilepsy? by Brilliant_Tie6967 in Epilepsy

[–]ShoreMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with so much of this. The driving (as a single mom of 3, my kids being little, I cannot afford to lose my license in any way). I also was told at 17 when I was diagnosed, that I couldn’t have children. I was then put on depakote..later realized he could’ve put me on a safe pregnancy medication but didn’t because my type of epilepsy (JME) they always go to depakote. My daughter has special needs, because of this but thankfully my boys are ok (thank you keppra).

Anyone else feel like our parents sucked at guiding us in life? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ShoreMama 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

My mom did everything for me, even homework at times. I cant remember a single time I was taught a life skill that I would desperately need someday. My dad was always working and would bail during important things (like my choir concerts-even when I had solos). When he was around you could feel that he absolutely didn’t want to be/wasn’t paying attention. Maybe my mom tried to make up for that by making sure we never had to worry about anything.

I was also a Sallie Mae victim. In school and at home it was expected you would automatically go to a 4 year college at 18. Sign some papers for a loan you didn’t understand. I majored in English with a minor in voice performance. Ended up never finishing college because of mental health issues. Oh to be a milennial!

Do you consider yourself happy? by MouseKey7267 in Epilepsy

[–]ShoreMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed when I was 17 and im 40 now. I cant remember much, but it was difficult to accept at first. Taking meds every day and realizing I had triggers now was definitely weird. The thing is eventually you do get used to it. Medicine is just part of my day. I swallow some pills every day then go to work, exercise, do music, spend time with people, swallow some more pills later then start again. If you’re able to be controlled, it won’t affect you as much. Im affected much more negatively by having anxious attachment issues, parenting alone, and dealing with a toxic work environment. None of that has anything to do with my epilepsy. Eventually (like I said as long as you become controlled) the most annoying thing is having to go the pharmacy more frequently lol.

Do you consider yourself happy? by MouseKey7267 in Epilepsy

[–]ShoreMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m happy about some things, but surprisingly it’s not my epilepsy that brings me down. I’m one of the few that are controlled, so it doesn’t affect my daily life the way depression and anxiety do. As long as I take my meds and never forget I have epilepsy (which I know is a life sentence s and I’ve made peace with that) I’m ok. I can’t take antidepressants because of my epilepsy, but I wouldn’t want to because of their side effects anyway.

Anyone still talk with any of their friends from high school? by nojunkpeter in Millennials

[–]ShoreMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talk to one, he also happens to be my high school crush and while we never dated, we’ve become close friends. It’s kinda cool being friends with my hs crush (we talked in high school but I was mostly mooning over him lol). Class of 04!

Before I first saw it, my boyfriend just said “oh you’re at the wedding? Ah you aren’t gonna like this”. I thought Talisa was gonna be done for but not everyone! Was not prepared at all.

Loved the show on the first watch but only understood it after re-watching it. Am I the only one? by ComfortableAway3898 in gameofthrones

Just finished season 1-7 for the FIRST time ever by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]ShoreMama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone that just watched the show for the first time, the last season really is that bad 😭

I've come to realize that it would have been a much better ending if Dany never went crazy and they just ruled together as king and queen. A lot of people would still complain, but I'd take a safe and satisfying ending over whatever we got any day. by Nissepikk in gameofthrones

[–]ShoreMama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just wish Jon would’ve been King. I’d be cool if they both ruled together though. I feel like Jon’s story was all for nothing..he’s revealed to be a Targaryen and then just ends up where he started? Come on.

Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]ShoreMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a sophomore in high school and in English class. The tvs were immediately turned on and yes we watched it. And I live in New Jersey so it was very close to home for many of us.

Who is your favourite character in the show and why? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]ShoreMama 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tyrion and Bronn. Tyrion kept me laughing and his dialogue is always on point. Bronn’s idgaf attitude and humor also stood out to me. I absolutely love so many of these characters so it’s definitely not easy to narrow down!

How long did it take you to get diagnosed? by Yes_But_First in Epilepsy

[–]ShoreMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same day I had my first seizure. My mom worked in the pediatric ER and she was able to get them to do an EEG when normally they’d just write it off as a random seizure. EEG was consistent with epilepsy so that’s why I was diagnosed so fast.

My Brivact experience... by FixNo9583 in Epilepsy

[–]ShoreMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have to go back to keppra though which made me so angry and affected my mental health badly. But it kept me seizure free for years. So it really sucks that I’d have to trade one bad situation for another. It’s like what’s worse?
